It’s so funny cause that post describing the reasoning for the change is so antithetical to why and how people use tumblr. In my experience, people don’t use tumblr in search of racking up notes or engagement. They want community. The way that reblogs function on this website is the stark difference between tumblr and other social media like twitter. You’d think if a website had survived longer than pretty much every major social media/blogging platform of its time that you’d keep the things that made that possible the same.
