Review: While overall I found this quite lacking, there were some enjoyable moments. I wanted to try fantasy from a new author and the concept of Lyrec was intriguing. Yet the concept and the execution were two entirely different things as for most of the novel I found that it was dragging on and on. Certain scenes were necessary only to introduce characters yet the plot wouldn’t have changed much at all if these characters were excluded. Truly all I wanted at times was for the plot to progress or at least something interesting to happen, sometimes that seemed like to much to ask.
