Thinking about my hunters again and thought i would make a post about all of them
John “Doe”/Nanashi no Gonbei (MH RISE)
Ive posted about him before, Doe is my main hunter, a wyverian and an insect glaive user, he specializes in capture and release. Relocating monsters to their proper habitats and rehabilitating captured monsters so they can be rereleased.
Hes an amnesiac who was once part of a rider village, however while on an ambassador trip on behalf of his tribe to meet with the Hunter’s Guild he was attacked by a monster and his entire party was killed. He survived at the cost of his memories.
He accompanies my partner’s OC Daisuke as a secondary protagonist in MHR, later lives on to witness the events of Wilds (how canon this part is is currently debatable, as i dont know the exact timeline between Rise and Wilds)
Nikolai (MH4U)
A Melynx who tends to keep to himself, he works as a hunter (NOT a Palico and NOT a Prowler, the distinction is important to him) in Bhera. Id consider him my 4 Ult Protagonist. Niko is a strict no-nonsense type of guy and a ruthless (borderline bloodthirsty) fighter. He uses a switch axe and wears a specially tailored Khezu set. He HATES being treated like a “cute little kitty” by the guild and hes become an advocate for Felyne rights and privileges. I think he is mostly fueled by spite.
Nanami (MHWRLD/IB)
My hunter for MHW, she is a seaperson pirate/poacher who was trailing the 5th fleet when Zorah Magdaros capsized her ship. She ended up washing ashore alongside her palico/felicicrow, the 3 of them being the sole survivors of the wreck. She was found by members of the guild, assumed to be a lost hunter from the 5th fleet and brought back to their camp where shes forced to keep up the charade of a legally licensed hunter to avoid being arrested for her crimes.
Nanami uses a Gun Lance.
Sahar (Rider, no origin)
A Rider from the Forbidden Lands, They are the caretaker for Vesper, a fragment of Zoh-Shia which had splintered off from the main body during its regeneration process and ended up in the care of their tribe. Sahar is now stuck in the middle of a conflict with Hunters, who see Vesper as a world ending threat and wish to destroy it. All while a greater threat looms over the horizon.
Sabri (MHWILDS)
A wandering Wyverian Merchant. He works to support his brother, who is an aspiring hunter in training. He seems to have an extensive history with the Keepers in Wyveria, though he refuses to elaborate on what that connection is. No one within the Keeper’s village seems to know (or want to tell) anything about him either…
Sabri rarely hunts, but when he does he will use a typically use a Hunting Horn, even more rarely he switches to Dual Blades.
Cyrus (MHWILDS)
Sabri’s adopted brother (though they will both claim they are blood) who tags along as they travel, they seem to be on the run from something, what that is, he does not tell. or even acknowledge for that matter. He has an unusual amount of strength and hunting prowess for a wyverian…
Cyrus uses a Great Sword.

There are more but they either dont have enough substance to talk about or lack proper designs, but id like to try and talk about them more too in order to flesh them out so…

- Unnamed Troverian Hunter/Specialty Glass Blower
- Unnamed Professional Monster Photographer
- Raiden, a Thunderbubble Mizutsune who is a bonded pair with Kovi (partner’s character), a Violet Mizutsune with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (basically the thing that makes wobble cats wobbly)
- Unnamed semi-joke Cat Girl character whose parents are a Human and Felyne
