XZ retained WWX’s nose rubbing habit when he’s thinking and it’s so cute I’m just 😭😭
The CP supertopics on Weibo collectively changed their profile pictures to Wangxian to celebrate CQL’s second anniversary and I’m just 🥺🥺🥺 at the love and nostalgia of it all —
I love how by the end of the novel lwj and wwx despite the ongoing confrontation with jgy the two just checks out. I mean, they're just barely involved. They're still invested in solving this, but they're clearly not that, invested anymore??? And the plot still moves forward, yet they have resolved their relationship and they're just in it to finish this case. And how they just up and leaves AND elopes right after is so funny.
Omg, you are right — these two were so distracted by each other that they went from investigators in a mystery thriller to lovers in a romance novel in a spilt second. Nothing will get in the way of them being romantic around each other, especially after the love confession! Just see this:
After every sentence, the arm he wrapped around Wei WuXian’s waist tightened. Wei WuXian hurt from the embrace, but the arms he wrapped around Lan WangJi’s back tightened as well, almost making him unable to breathe. But still, he savored every moment as he wished to hug him even tighter.
He couldn’t see anything.
But their chests were right against each other’s. The two hearts couldn’t hide at all. Wei WuXian felt it with clarity—Lan WangJi’s throbbing heart, the heat that was about to break out of that chest, and something that landed at his neck before disappearing soundlessly, something that might have resembled a tear.
— GDC Chapter 100
Show this to someone with no prior knowledge and ask them to guess where this happened. They’ll never be able to guess this happened in the most action-packed climactic scenes of the entire story.
Oh nonnie, may I also offer you some drama shenanigans? The drama is actually not so bad in portraying this I-know-we-are-still-investigating-but-I-just-wanna-be-close-to-you vibes either. (Although minus the whole confession part cos y’know, censorship...)
Don’t ask me why Wangxian have chosen to share a cushion when there are actually so many around them. 🤷🏻♀️
And WWX lamenting that they’ve been cock-blocked found by LSZ and WN, right after their elopement.
I love Wangxian, they’re truly peak romantic comedy sometimes. 🙃
Disclaimer: CPN, everything’s fake, I am fake.
Tang San’s coming home! It was just announced that DLDL will be airing today (5 February 2021) on CCTV8 (12:00pm) and Tencent (12:30pm).
Honestly, we should have seen it coming, because our 报喜鸟 (lit. report good news bird; messenger of good news) told us two days ago on 3 February 2021 (coincidentally, Zhan (3) Ai (2) day).
Caption: Shall we pick five together?
He was wearing the special Chanel Coco Crush ring too, ffs! We should have known! But here we are, clowns for the both of them as usual. Leaving everyone with this beautiful image of the messenger of good news and the good news:
hey wanted to know, is there any cultural significance of having two swords with you? When JC gives it back to Wwx after the 3 months absence, he says that ppl were asking him all sorts of questions. Even when Lwj has both his and wwx's Jin Zixuan asks him "Are you guys,,,?" Or something along those lines
Greetings!! 😁 I went back to Episodes 19-20 to look at the two moments you highlighted, and personally, I think the significance is that of them holding Wei Wuxian’s sword and not two swords per se. Let me explain!
In the show, one’s sword is seen to be an important item that is highly personal and sacred; the sword is not just any weapon, but is a spiritual weapon that is tied to one’s golden core or spiritual energy. In general, the higher the cultivation level of the cultivator, the more sentient the sword becomes. Taking Wei Wuxian’s sword as an example, Suibian is able to recognise its owner via his soul (Wei Wuxian himself) and his golden core (evidenced by Jiang Cheng being able to unsheathe it), and actually seals itself for an indefinite amount of time waiting for its owner to wield it again.
Moreover, swords are seen as a personal possession that functions as a symbol of identity and status in the cultivation world. For instance, Su She had his sword disguised because people may recognise him from his sword glare, Jin Ling continued his father’s legacy by using the latter’s sword, Suihua, and Song Lan chose to carry a piece of Xiao Xingchen with him always by keeping Shuanghua.
As a cultivator, it is expected that your sword should be on your person at all times. Come what may, your sword should be with you because it is seen as an extension of yourself. This is why we see people questioning Wei Wuxian’s choice not to carry his sword during formal events on multiple occasions. It follows that if one party willingly allows another to wield their sword, it implies a high level of trust and closeness between the two parties, to the extent of being family or lovers.
This brings me to the two scenes you highlighted above — I’ll talk about Jiang Cheng then Lan Wangji, and how the significance of holding Suibian differs between them.
As Jiang Cheng is Wei Wuxian’s brother, it is not particularly unusual for him to hold on to Suibian, but what is unusual is the length of time that he had the sword on him. He snappishly told Wei Wuxian that he had to field others’ random questions by holding on to it every day — likely about Wei Wuxian’s whereabouts, since Wei Wuxian shouldn’t have gone anywhere without Suibian for an extended period of time.
As for Lan Wangji... According to the rest of the cultivation world, there really is no reason for him to be holding on to Wei Wuxian’s most precious personal possession, isn’t it? The significance of Lan Wangji holding Suibian in his hands (even if for a brief moment), when Wei Wuxian’s brother is also available to take possession of it, would not be lost on others. What is unusual in Lan Wangji’s case is thus the relationship. This is why Jin Zixuan immediately picks up on it and questions if there is something special going on between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji. But of course he doesn’t complete the sentence, because Lan Wangji is scary AF and Jin Zixuan has self-preservation instincts, thank you very much. (And also, #chinesecensorship.)
That’s all I have for now! Thanks for asking this question, I actually enjoyed putting my answer together! Have an awesome day ❤️
XZ’s Luckin Tea advert posted by his studio today reminded me of a similar advert that I saw not long ago...
Oh you know, nothing much, just Yizhan being domestic hanging out in pastel colours and grey cats at home.
They aren’t advertising the same things by the way, just in case you’re wondering. 🤡 🔪
Hi, I like your tumblr so much I keep revisiting it. Since you have such a good grasp of the language, please tell me, in the episode where LZ and WY meet in Yilung again, does WY say "this is my child" about Yuan or does he literally say "I gave birth to him"? There are many translations already and idk which to trust. Thank you !
Hello! *waves* Thank you for appreciating my blog and letting me know, it means a lot to me! On to your question — alright, time to re-visit the Yiling Wangxian reunion where A-Yuan was the greatest wingman!
Curious about the nature of the relationship between WWX and A-Yuan, LWJ starts off by asking, “这孩子...”
这 /zhè/ - This
孩子 /háizi/ - child
WWX then reaches down to hold A-Yuan’s hand (as if to confirm possession of the child, which is so cute), then points to himself before saying... “这孩子,我生的!”
这 /zhè/ - This
孩子 /háizi/ - child
我 /wǒ/ - I, me
生 /shēng/ - give birth
的 /de/ - of, ~’s (possessive particle)
Put together, what we have is WWX telling LWJ point-blank that he gave birth to A-Yuan (“This child, I gave birth to him!”). He says it so definitively that LWJ actually believes him for a split second.
Although the change in LWJ’s facial expression is minute, we can still see the astonishment in his facial expression. If we were privy to his thoughts, it would probably be along these lines: “Is this possible? Can the techniques of demonic cultivation allow a man to give birth to a child? How..?” I’d argue that LWJ would have looked less shocked if WWX had simply said that the child was his son, because it would have been simply more believable than the biological impossibility of WWX giving birth.
The next moment, however, WWX’s inability to keep a straight face and smirk gives the game away, and confirms for LWJ that it is WWX teasing him, yet again.
PS. Jokes aside, this moment between them is also very important because it breaks the ice; after all, the last time they parted on Qiongqi Way was arguably on bad terms. By using humour, they confirm that they’re not angry with each other for what happened, and that they are still soulmates <3
PPS. Please forgive my poor quality gifs, I used my phone to make them during my lunch break, heh.
My CP brain is at it again 🤡
Yesterday night, Lin Hai laoshi, whom we already know loves to drop hints (#cpn), posted on Weibo, seemingly referencing XZ’s performance later that night.
Lin Hai’s post: Run away from everything chaotic and messy, run to you~
Fan’s comment: Time is chaotic and messy, but I run to you
Lin Hai’s reply (to fan): I am just an old man who loves romance
And today, we have XZ himself, who posted on Oasis.
At this point I just want everyone to know that it’s his 85th post on Oasis. And his 85th post is a selfie and a dog meme, with a reference to running in the caption (with the use of the word ‘run’, a nod to LH’s post too?). Running, XZ, and a dog? Is he running to a certain 狗崽崽 we know? 🥲
What can I say... I am also just an old woman who loves romance. 🏃🏃
