Hello everyone!

First of all, we’d like to thank everyone for their feedback. After some careful consideration/discussion, Roa and Dawn will be stepping down. Admin applications are also open. Roa and Dawn will leave once the new admins join.

The admin application will be open soon. I will post the link to it once it is ready. We just wanted to get everyone up to date as to what was going on.

Shay knocked on the door of Jo’s room. She’d just finished her move to National City and was eager to see Jo again. The scrappy younger woman was always a joy to see. She had been so brave in the Battle for National City, and Shay was glad that she’d been able to repay Jo a little bit for that bravery by helping her get off the streets and into this halfway house. She’d meant to visit more, but well New York City was literally on the other side of the country to National City and Shay had a full time job. All of that had changed now though. Getting to see Jo more was just another bonus of her move to National City. Shay knocked on the door once more. “Firecracker, it’s me! C’mon, I got a surprise for you!”

not the same anon but yes i think is offensive that this blog is dedicated to east / south east asian lgbt women and none of you are from this part of the world. i thought you were :( i am from korea and i find it upsetting

first of all, i just wanted to point out that this blog isn't dedicated to east / south east lgbt women specifically. it is dedicated to all of asia, which includes south asia. due to the fact that there is very little south asian sapphic media in the first place (at least compared to east asia and south east asia), we end up getting more east / south east asian media in the tag. i (jo) am south asian. i don't necessarily appreciate you erasing my identity like that. i 100% understand your concern, but it is important to note that i am asian.

second of all, we are open to hearing everyone's concerns and opinions! what do you suggest us for to do? we appreciate the feedback and we're open to making some changes around here in order to address everyone's concerns. this includes opening up admin applications for the blog.

Maybelle had said that she'd be down in five. It had been plenty longer than that but with the smell of her perfume floating down the stairs as she fixed up her hair, Jo didn't have it in her to complain. She knew that she'd be a mess the second that she saw the blonde — it happened every time. Thank God Maybelle couldn't read her mind.

When she did make her way down, Jo was speechless — simply staring at Maybelle as she walked into the room.

bio - WH 13-verse - Josefine

Name: Josefine Keller ||  FC: Jane Levy || 

 Personality Traits: Smart, Curious, Charming, Distrustful, Wary

Josephine Keller was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to a pair of loving parents. Her mother and father had been a couple for years before the child was born, but never married. When Josephine was four years old, something horrible happened. Her mother worked nights at a nearby Italian restaurant, and was taking out the trash when she was accosted by a mugger in the alley. In the scuffle she got killed by a stray bullet. 

Little Josephine knew something was wrong. Her mother always read her a bedtime story at night before she went to sleep, but that night there was no story. The next morning there were no pancakes, no good morning kiss, and no mommy to take her to preschool. Her father filed a missing persons report with the police, but he knew that something horrible had happened to her. It was confirmed a few days later when a family friend, who worked as a cop, came by with news that Josephine’s mother’s body had been found, partially burned, in an abandoned mine shaft at the edge of town. After that tragedy, the two of them left Little Rock for Memphis; her dad was afraid that child protective services would deem him unfit to care for Jo because they had not been married, and he wasn’t going to lose her too.

As she grew, Josephine kept to herself mostly, never letting anyone close for fear of drawing attention to them. This made it hard for the young girl to make friends, and she could count on one hand the number of times she ever got invited to birthday parties or dances. It was a lonely life, but she knew how much it would hurt her father if anyone would take her away. She was fourteen when her father died of a sudden, massive heart attack. With no one left to care for her, Jo was placed in foster care where she spent the next three years dodging unwanted attention from foster dads that tried to get a little too handsy. Finally reaching her breaking point, she ran away at the age of seventeen, figuring they were going to push her out into the world the next year anyway. She hitched a ride on a truck to Atlanta where she arrived a few hours later with only her backpack, a few dollars in her pocket, the police hot on her heels for running away, and a genuine hope that things would finally get better.

Personality:

A life of hiding and the time of running  has left Josephine distrustful and wary around others, especially those that she doesn’t know well. It’s not that she doesn’t want to make friends, but she’s had little practice over the years. It’s just not something that comes naturally for her, but she’s trying to learn to see the good in others and trust that they are as honest as they say they are. It’s been no easy road however, and there are still times when she wants to shut people out completely. When Josephine does let someone in, they’ll quickly see a charming girl full of good humor despite what life has thrown at her. She’s intensely curious, always wanting to know the ins and outs of everything that’s put in front of her. Mysteries don’t stay untested around her long, and she’s always wanting to know just what makes things work the way they do. It also helps that she’s incredibly bright; had she had the proper chance in life, she could have very easily been a doctor, a lawyer, or a great detective. Time will tell, she figures, if any of her dreams will ever have the opportunity to come true.

Stepping into the bar, Jo’s eyes immediately went to a familiar face. Well, the whole place was full of familiar faces, but only one was somebody she really considered a friend. Making friends had never really come easily for the blonde, and college wasn’t any different, even though she’d done her best to fit in and be ‘normal’, she still managed to be a freak.

Sniffing, she crossed the room and sat next to Damon. She normally didn’t sit next to him, he typically was trolling for a girl or two to hook up with and while she enjoyed his company, she never wanted to cramp his style. Instead, she’d sit a few stools away until he’d had his fun. Tonight was different, though. Tonight she needed her friend.

“So, uh,” she started a little shakily, motioning to the bartender for her usual drink, ever so grateful for her very convincing fake ID. “Today’s been shit,” she told Damon bluntly, and before she realized it, all the shit from the day was pouring out of her. “Simon dumped me. My bitch roommate is rubbing that fact in every chance she gets, and there’s a floor party tonight in the dorm, so I’m not even going to be able to sleep before my midterm tomorrow. I really desperately need a couch to crash on tonight,” she said, finally looking at the man she’d sat next to, sadness washed over her face. “I can hide in the bathroom or whatever if you decide to bring a girl over. I just need a place to stay, I won’t get in your way.”

Jo took a deep breath as the flames in the small metal trashcan she’d drug to the roof had died down. She wrapped her arms around herself, staring at the smoldering remains of Ric’s possession. She was hurting, still, and she’d put on a brave face in front of the group, refusing to let anybody see her upset, but up here, in her safe space on the roof, she let her pain show. 

Tears ran down her cheeks as she looked at the ashes, wishing desperately that she was out in the quiet of the country, rather than being surrounded by the noise of late-night traffic, but at least up on the roof she didn’t have to deal with the pitying looks or angry accusations. Ric had betrayed them all, yes, but her heart was the one that had been broken.
