In Rise of the Guardians, Jack's little sister grew up to marry the king of Arendelle. The moon told her that her first child would have ice powers in honor of Jack, who she thought was dead. This is how Elsa got her powers.

Idina Menzel recently made a statement that she thought it would be great if Elsa has a girlfriend in the Frozen sequel. 

Naturally the facebook comments are full of “leave the children’s shows alone” and “not every character has to be a gay/lesbian” as if 99% of characters aren’t already straight.

Children can handle gayness. Gay children deserve to have positive relationship models to look up to. The problem isn’t with the children but with the bigoted adults.
