“Not to mention the fact that I almost didn’t make the Power Squad because the captain doesn’t like me. Says I have too much baggage or something. Can you believe that? They’re still blaming me for the assault even after I won the trial. When is victim blaming ever going to stop?”  Zoe rolled her eyes, shaking her head as she looked over at Grace. “What is wrong with people?”

Zoe’s mother had decided to leave town again on a business trip, which was normal for her to deal with, but when she would tell her friends, they’d just look at her like something was wrong. Like her mother shouldn’t just keep leaving her alone. Coming home later one night after a party, Zoe shut the door behind her, only to notice a familiar face on her couch. “Oh my god, don’t do that!” She jumped, shaking her head. “How did you even get in here, anyway?” Not that she wasn't happy about the company, she just didn't like the fact that someone was able to get into her house so easily.

Zoe sat alone in the hallway, ignoring the phone calls from her mother asking her where she was. Sure, Zoe knew she had to go home at some point but she was nowhere near ready to deal with the constant bitching she would endure. Not paying attention, she didn’t even realize the hand that was placed on her shoulder. Finally looking over, she jumped a bit. “Oh my god... Seriously, you scared the hell out of me.”

💘 for Zoe

Zoe was always afraid of falling for someone. The girl was notorious for relationships ending badly, but when she met Grace and got to know her, everything changed. The girl realized that she needed to open herself up to relationships again. Zoe finally realized she loved Grace after the other girl had told her about how she had cancer. She wanted to make sure that nothing would happen so she and Grace could be together for a long time.

“I feel so horrible... Could you please just speak a little more quietly? Thank you...”

“I would love to come over, Drew, really. But my mother has put me on strict lockdown for this audition that’s coming up. Unless you can find a way to sneak your girlfriend out of her house for the night, we’re screwed.”

“Can you please explain to me why we’re under lockdown? Because I really don’t like this.” Zoe said, holding onto Grace’s hand as she looked around the bathroom they were stuck in.
