melissa benoist, she/her, twenty-five ➜ ➜ ➜ the real enemy is out there, but they don’t stand a chance against KARA DANVERS and their SUPER STRENGTH, FLIGHT, INVULNERABILITY, & HEAT VISION. better known as SUPERGIRL, this VIGILANTE won’t be caught off guard.
Rey again, with my last and newest baby, Kara Danvers! I’ve seen two seasons of Supergirl so far which made me start her comics and she quickly became one of my faves, SO, here we go! Before I start, I just want to say I will be trying to merge comics with the CW show to basically make my own canon!
As Krypton died, Kara was sent to protect her baby cousin Kal-el, aka Superman, when he was a baby, but sadly, that never happened. Her pod got stuck in the Phantom Zone, and while she was suspended in animation for years, staying a thirteen year old and never aging, Kal grew up as Clark Kent and became the Superman everyone knows and loves.
Eventually her pod got out of the Phantom Zone and she was found by S.H.I.E.L.D and her cousin. S.H.I.E.L.D gave her to the Danvers family, to raise alongside their human daughter, Alex. Kara and Alex grew up together and bonded as sisters, and for a while, Kara tried to be normal.
As an adult, Kara felt like something was missing in her life, and after saving a plane Alex was on that was about to crash, she realized it was helping people. By day, she’s a reporter for Catco, living a double life as Supergirl to try and keep National City safe.
Kara lives on her own, but still close to her sister and adoptive mom and dad. She learned from her aunt, Astra, that Krypton didn't die, it was killed, yet by who, she isn’t sure. Only that they used her father’s tech and neither of her parents were the people she thought they were. She has also recently stopped her uncle from activating Myriad which would have made everyone on Earth puppets to his will.
I’m still learning more about Kara and the Superfam, so bear with me! Of all of them though, Kara has the most anger issues, though she is very good at keeping them at bay unless something seriously hits her berserk button. She’s usually kind and compassionate and when she isn’t Supergirl, she tends to be awkward and clumsy. She’s easy to be around, and seems to be the person in her friend group everyone goes to when they have problems, however it tends to take a toll she won’t admit to. She constantly stretches herself thin to try and protect everyone, which also takes a toll on her, making her wonder if she should abandon Kara Danvers and only be Supergirl.
sophie turner, she/her, thirty ➜ ➜ ➜ the real enemy is out there, but they don’t stand a chance against JEAN GREY and their TELEPATHY, EMPATHY, & TELEKINESIS. better known as PHOENIX, this X-MEN won’t be caught off guard.
AND IT’S REY AGAIN, here with my girl Jean Grey because I have zero self control. Jean is my favorite Marvel character ever so she has a special place in my heart (her and Dick are my favorite comic book characters). SO, like Dick’s, I will try to keep this as short and sweet, yet informative as possible!
TW: CHILD DEATH, CAR ACCIDENT, DEATH
Jean’s powers manifested the way they did in the comics. Her best friend Annie was struck by a car when they were outside playing Frisbee. Jean was nine at the time and she accidentally made a psychic rapport with her dying friend to the point that she was feeling her die. This attracted the attention of the Phoenix Force, which was drawn to her high empathetic abilities and the fact she was doing something in its realm, which was keeping a soul on the plane of the living. Had the Phoenix not stepped in to cut her psychic rapport with Annie, she could have died with her friend.
Everyone’s seen the movies, but long story short, Jean encountered Apocalypse with the X-men and killed him with her connection to the Phoenix force. While she did not have it yet, she still had a strong psychic connection to it.
Then, her next encounter with the Phoenix was when she died in the shuttle, after redirecting a solar flare from her friends and into her. As she absorbed it, she called out to the Phoenix and it resurrected her. We all know what happened next, she sacrificed herself and died saving the X-men from the Skrull.
When she died at the end of Dark Phoenix, she really did die. However, the Phoenix, being the Phoenix, wouldn’t let her. It took her years to piece herself back together, molecule by molecule, but eventually, she was herself again. The process was kind of traumatizing and Jean still thinks about it and feels she really should be dead. Sometimes she even looks at herself and wonders if she is still human after that. She was thirty when she died, and has been dead for quite a long time. So it seems as if she hasn’t aged at all since the day she died.
Jean gave up the Phoenix when she came back, though she still uses the name as Marvel Girl no longer fits her. She’s thirty and its kind of weird to call herself Marvel Girl, but she doesn’t mind if people call her that. She mainly just wants to get rid of the bad associations some have with the Phoenix name and make it her own. She wants to own it because while it was a dark time in her life, there was also good in it.
So now, Jean is in 2020 and yeah, the technology confuses her and her friends are all older than her by a few years, but she will get used to it. She just wants to be Jean Grey, the X-man, for once, not the goddess the Phoenix made her.
Jean is kind and compassionate, and very much the person people can come to with their problems. She is a mother figure to her students, and will often try to make them feel better or get them through hard times. However, if you hurt her kids, she will not let you get away with it. Her wrath makes her powerful, and even without the Phoenix, she is a force to be reckoned with. However, Jean is usually a calming force to be around, and easy to befriend. This is probably why so many people can talk to her.
brenton thwaites, he/him, twenty-nine ➜ ➜ ➜ the real enemy is out there, but they don’t stand a chance against DICK GRAYSON and their ACROBATICS & MARTIAL ARTS. better known as NIGHTWING, this VIGILANTE won’t be caught off guard.
Hello! I’m mod Rey and I’m here with my favorite Batboy (and arguably my favorite DC character) Dick Grayson! I’ve been playing him for around a year now, on and off, and have gotten to read most of the major comics he’s in (save his Batman run, haven’t read it yet) and see most of the adaptations he’s in, so I’m very excited to play my boy again with you all! So I’ll try to keep this intro as simple and vague, yet informative as possible!
I feel pretty much everyone knows Dick was the first Robin at the age of eight after his parents fell to their deaths and Dick was unable to catch them. Bruce Wayne saw himself in the kid and took him in, stopped him from going after and killing Tony Zucco, who was responsible for his parents deaths, and basically raised him, adopted him and helped him rein in his anger issues.
Dick quit being Robin at eighteen after multiple disagreements and later on that month, became Nightwing and he’s been that ever since.
He’s also leader of the Titans and has occasionally tagged along with bigger teams (usually the Justice League, he doesn’t like the idea of the government trying to figure out his identity so he doesn’t hang with the Avengers) when he needs to, but most of the time he is with the Titans in San Francisco or on his own in Bludhaven, being a Detective in the BPD by day and a vigilante by night. Sometimes he’ll even drop by Gotham if his dad needs help.
He knows about his relation to the Court of Owls but has basically told his creepy great great grandfather “fuck destiny, I make my own”. Last he saw William Cobb, he dumped liquid nitrogen on him underneath the Gotham subway systems and left him to die. As of now, his whereabouts are unknown. He has no wish to be the Gray Son of Gotham,
He was “dead” for a while, and undercover in Spyral, but that was probably a few years ago, so he’s back and operating as Nightwing again and his identity is still secret. The details of how he joined, why he faked his death, and what happened in Spyral are vague and will most likely stay vague, just cause I don’t wanna force any plots.
As of right now, Dick has never been Batman and never plans to take up that mantle. It’s his dad’s, and he has worked hard enough to get out from under the shadow of the bat, taking it up would be several steps back for him as far as he’s concerned, however, if Bruce were ever injured and needed him to take it up, he would in a heartbeat.
One more thing. Ric Grayson is not canon in this house. I probably sound like a broken record, but that never happened. Dick was never shot in the head by KG Beast and never lost his memory of the Batfamily and the last twenty-one years of his life.
I also tend to pull from DC Universe’s Titans 2018 for characterization as I feel it’s pretty close to his 90s version, however I also grab from Rebirth, Young Justice, and Teen Titans as well! My canon for him is a bit of a mess because of that!
Dick’s always the big brother of the Batfamily and usually seen as the happy one, but he still has his own issues and tends to bury them under the mask of being happy and telling jokes to ease the tension, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t serious. Sometimes he can be too serious (he trains quite often), but that’s usually when he’s stretching himself too thin between too many things, which is something he does often. Dick has a habit of trying to do everything, not caring the toll it takes on him. He has anger issues and a guilt complex, along with a fear of failure or not being good enough. He’s trusting, but not gullible, but also one of the kindest people on the planet who refuses to give up on others, no matter how far gone they seem. There’s a reason why so many heroes trust him and would jump when he called for their aid.
