Mello had hardly been able to keep still all day, and it wasn’t getting any easier as the clock got closer to three. Three was the end of his last class. Three was the end of Matt’s last class. And then his plan would fall into action.
Every day after classes were over, most of the kids ran outside to play. If it was sunny, they’d play in the front lawn, where there was more shade. However, behind Wammy’s was the sprawling football field, which would remain basically untouched if everything fell into place correctly. The football field was fenced off, but that was it. A chain link fence, and after that, the whole World. Well, London, at least. And Mello intended on seeing it, with Matt in tow, of course.
After class got out, they would start a game of frisbee in the front yard, then, when things picked up, they’d book it, back behind the school, over the fence, and they wouldn’t return until lights out, when Roger did his rounds.
As far as Mello was concerned, he thought his plan was flawless, and at thirteen, he didn’t have much else to worry about. He had planned an excellent night out.
He jumped when the bell rang, startled out of his thoughts. He’d been so engrossed in his own thoughts, he’d almost forgot to take notes. Almost.
Mello was the first one out of the classroom, shoving his notebook haphazardly into his backpack and running down the hallway, racing to meet Matt at their half-way spot by the water fountain.
What's up, princess? Doing anything later? [m-jeevas]
Light turned around to face the other man, a soft smile on his lips once he recognized the figure. “Hey, Matt. I don’t think so; why, do you have something in mind?” he asked, his interest peaked.
