I’m actually a little hurt you didn’t answer. You’re such an early riser, and you can’t pretend you don’t know who’s calling. But I’ll forgive you, if only because I need you to owe me. I have to go back. I know I said we could pretend nothing strange happened, at least for a while, but I can feel that hiding isn’t what I’m supposed to be doing. You know me better than to worry. You will, though. I promise I’ll be back before you miss me too much. And if I’m not...we’ve said goodbye before. It gets easier, doesn’t it?

I’m not sure if now is a good time -- I don’t think any time will be, because many would argue it’s unnecessary for me to tell you this. By this point, I’m hoping you’ll delete this voicemail promptly after listening. You weren’t our first choice for the role--well, okay, you were my first choice, but that’s it. I had to fight for you and...look, I’m not trying to make you feel indebted to me or anything strange, I don’t want or need any favors. What I really wanted to say was, you proved me right. You were the best choice, and I’m not the only one who knows it anymore. See you at rehearsal.

Where did you go??? Sorry for yelling, though I hardly doubt you’re anywhere quieter. I distinctly remember claiming the right to take you out after opening. Anyways, I wanted to say this in person, but you were wonderful. Thankfully, everyone was, so I think we can safely look forward to some great reviews tomorrow. I’ll be waiting at the cafe down the street, I can only handle so much praise before even I start to worry about my ego. All right, text me when you get this.
