saw that one ask about Keith/Shiro/Iverson that was like, Iverson was taking a chance on shiro shiro and also giving special premission to stay on base full time and that this in part inspired shiro taking keith in.
so i was wondering will that show in any interactions with keith and iverson?
just because i feel very lonely on the island of "iverson is actually a decent guy with decent morals and also he is hilarious"
Iverson is probably one of the most understanding of Keith in the higherup staff. The two don't have many direct interactions, especially not since Keith dropped out, but in the background Iverson was one of the ones really advocating for the kid.
Keith's temperament and "discipline problem" still got him in a lot of shit with Iverson, don't get me wrong. But much like he stuck his neck out for Shiro so often, he'd stick his neck out for Keith all the same.
When they return to Earth, it's not a particularly close dynamic, but Keith actually does recognize that Iverson (along with Adam) was the reason he lasted so long without being expelled.
“Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. And more congratulations are in order for it seems that she is the fifth and final paladin.” Kolivan spoke calmly, a smile easily playing on his lips. “I have no doubts that you can look after her, but with your permission, I would like to come up in a few days to help prepare her for the journey back to Earth so we may help in protecting her.”
Hey, my dudes! You know, as comical and/or adorable as my Raising Paladins AU doodles have mostly been, it isn’t all as it seems. There’s a reason why one of the paladins is with the Galra, being trained to be a loyal soldier.
Er... this is kinda getting to be a lot below typed up, so I’ll just put my ideas/thoughts in the “keep reading” below.
So! Some ideas playing in my mind is that Sam and Colleen are on a space station during a mission (not quite as far as Kerberos, but pretty close; unless they did get that far with the Blade of Marmora’s help) and while away for some time, they have a baby. Via video communications, they announce this back to the Garrison... as well as proof that they have the final paladin of Voltron.
I keep thinking that members of the Blade (either as a group or when Krolia finds the blue lion and decides to contact her team) stay on Earth and after discovering by chance that Shiro has an “odd mark” (perhaps by Sam talking with Keith’s dad since I like the idea of those two being friends), they look into it, thus leading to thoughts about the lions of Voltron.
Keith being born probably furthers the connection and eventually, to help ensure the lion’s safety as well as the children/baby paladins, the Blade ends up working with the Galaxy Garrison, helping to prepare the kids for when they are old enough to defend others.
And when Katie/Pidge, the final paladin, is announced, they know further that they have to keep her safe, too, and bring her to the other paladins; they’ll be a team and it’s a good idea to raise them together, right?
But... well... in the end, we know that doesn’t happen.
I get the feeling that Kolivan personally went to the station to escort the newborn to Earth. But he was too late; by the time he gets there, the base had been attacked, the team up there not even being able to send a distress signal. No crew.
No Holts.
No Katie...
And as much as I like Kolivan, I think for tragic reasons of this, he’d probably personally blame himself for being unable to protect anyone, especially a newborn. Which could definitely lead to him crying and apologizing to Shiro about them not having the fifth paladin. But this could also go into further character development in this AU, having him be protective over the paladins all while making sure they are trained properly so that no more go missing and, if the Blades cannot retrieve Katie before then, so that they can help their fellow paladin as well as help end the war that had been going on for far too long.
Well! I hope y’all enjoyed! Art and possible feels alike!
Ideas probably aren’t set in stone, but, to me, they are good ideas to work with.
