M.A.D.D. was found by a mother who lost her child due to drunk driving. It is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the nation working to protect families from underage drinking and drunk driving. Also, every 8.6 minutes, M.A.D.D. supports victims and survivors of drunk driving with no charge through victim advocates.

The Zero Tolerance Law

in the 1990s, the Century Council established the Zero Tolerance Law for minors who drink and drive. If they are caught, they are immediately arrested for DUI.

Today I went to my MADD impact panel to hear the horror stories of those who have been impacted by drunk driving.  It was powerful, sad, and emotional.  This punishment is pretty intense, and it fits the crime.  I accept the things I have done, and I am grateful to be alive.  I have come to terms with the fact that I don't drink responsibly, and I am amazed on how many take this life we are given for granted.  Getting behind the wheel when drinking is no longer an option for me.  Drinking is no longer an option for me.  I say this in gratitude.  I say this with a clear head.  it's time to move on.
