He definitely didn’t notice how fast Penny had moved with him. Or that her drink seemed to be a black viscous fluid. Instead he was just dazed and trying to remember what she said as he leaned against the wall.
“I feel-” He murmured weakly as he tried to focus on her, “Light headed and kind of dizzy. Like I’m in the air.”

Penny was neat. Ruby liked her, and Ruby was generally a good judge of character. So Jaune had invited her to hang out some time. That was how they wound up at a cafe, if awkwardly, and he asked about Atlas.
Fortunately it seemed like Penny was just as awkward as Jaune, so it led to social snafus, and then the duo laughed if off.
And then Jaune had gulped down the last of his soda, and faltered as he reached for his wallet, nearly falling out of his chair.“I feel strange… What was in that drink?”
