People are all "why should my taxes go to others' healthcare" when right now their taxes are going to America still somewhat colonising the rest of the world (Italy, Korea, and UK have militaries,name one base of theirs on US soil... And providers of rape trauma care near US bases in Asia are in a completely constant state of being overwhelmed with patients), rigged elections (people paid by these taxes are gerrymandering districts to drown out POC voters--even when local law says it's illegal, see Cambodia Town, Long Beach, CA) to rig the electoral college that we don't even need (your friendly reminder that Clinton won popular vote in 2016) and an endless string of wars since the country's inception. That tax money is going to teenagers dying before they're old enough for a glass of wine (because of the lobbyist-bribed politicians and their dumb staggered laws that say deciding whether or not you can handle wine or a cigar is a more serious decision than signing up to possibly get blown to pieces while blowing another country's kids to pieces in some war because leaders can't sit down and talk it over like adults. And the kids that make it back missing arms and legs, or so traumatised they can't handle life on their own, VA healthcare is in tatters and a lot of the patients are homeless or in bedbug and rat-infested dumps)

You would need a B.A. in General Education from a US university to equal the education you get from graduating high school in Japan, Mexico, and a slew of other countries.

At least here in CA, the roads are bumpy and crumbling, full of potholes.

So "I don't want my taxes to save a poor person's life from dying of preventable disease"means you like this, the status quo, where money is going to rig elections and kill teens. Your money is going to destruction, pure and simple.

And when you say you don't want your taxes to go to heal people, educate people, lift *your society, your country* up, you say you want people destroyed.
