Jesse has never been an outwardly affectionate person. It was one of the few traits he inherited from his father. Therefore, someone like Laura was jarring for him. In all the right ways, Laura was loud, outgoing, and open. Compared to Jesse’s quiet, introverted, monotone it was rather odd. He wasn’t used to someone demanding affection from him. Even Dimitri saved it for the moments he was in real distress. 

“No.” Was Jesse’s simple answer, not even looking up at Laura. Instead, he kept his focus on the paperwork he was meant to file for his father as part of his course mandated internship. It was like this for a few minutes, yet he still felt as if someone was peering over his shoulder.

Sure enough Laura was, in fact, still staring at him, arms crossed with a pout. Sighing, Jesse shook his head. 

“Laura, please, I’m busy.”

Jesse had lost count at how many drinks he had at this point, but his head was starting to spin and his stomach beginning to ache. Still, he swallowed what was left in his cup not to dull the physical pain, but the emotional. Then Laura asked the hard question, the one that hit him closest to home. He wasn’t drunk enough to not understand what she was saying, but was drunk enough to not remember the fact that he answered. Moving to go grab another drink to deal with answering this question, Laura gripped onto his arm so he couldn’t do that.

“Why am I afraid?” Jesse reiterated with a snort. “Jesus, maybe it’s because every single person I’ve ever opened up to has gotten fucked over royally? Hahnna lost her memory and doesn’t remember our friendship at all. I had to sit and watch a villain kill my mother because I wasn’t strong enough to save her, and then my fuckin’ dad abandoned me. Dimitri had his best friend stab him in the back and almost kill him. Oh yeah, and Audrey got her second head fuckin’ cut off. Do you see? Do ya see why I don’t wanna open up?” 

The nausea got so much in that moment, so his lips pursed into a tight frown and he gripped his stomach. “I really don’t feel good.”

Honestly, Jesse was the most oblivious person on the team. Back when him and Dimitri were sexually involved, it took him weeks to actually realize that Dimitri was interested in him that way. Therefore, the moment Laura started flirting with him, Jesse didn’t really notice. He figured this was upsetting Laura a great deal for her to go this far in her efforts. 

He blinked at Laura for a few moments, unsure of what to do next. Really, Jesse hadn’t expected Laura to pin him to the wall with one hand, and a sparkle in her green eyes. To be honest, he really hadn’t expected her to do much of anything other than train or work with her sister. This was okay too, he supposed. He wasn’t going to push her away, or get angry about this. Quite frankly, he didn’t quite mind.

“Okay,” Jesse nodded, biting down on his lower lip. “Is there, uh, a purpose to this Laura? Do you need something or...?”

This was all part of the hero training, Jesse had to remember that. The exhaustion he felt, the sweat from his flames turning into frost on his cheeks, the constant shift from overheating to getting frostbite, it was all a part of the training. It was his first mission under the apprenticeship of his father, the esteemed Pyro. He had so much to prove.

So the moment the villain he had been after made the slightest moves to attack to blonde women, an ice barricade formed in front of the two. It towered over them, and rose above most buildings. He made sure none of the ice stuck to the two females. Running over to the two of them, he was shivering a tiny bit. Frost began to form on his shoulders and jawline. 

“I bought the both of you some time, are you okay? Are you hurt?” As he spoke, every breath he took was visible, that’s how cold the air around him was becoming. “Sorry, if it’s a little cold. I made it thicker so it would take them a while to break through.”

Dimitri is extremely musically inclined, though no one would be able to guess by just looking at him. He has been playing the bass all his life and is really good at it, he’s also been trying to pick up the violin. Dimitri also has a beautiful singing voice, though he doesn’t really like showing that much around others.

Hahnna has serious abandonment issues. Though she doesn’t show how much a person means to her outwardly, if someone leaves her without warning she will break down and cry. It all comes from feeling her parents abandoned her at a young age, seeing as all she remembers is the group home she’s lived in the life she can remember.

Jesse has really bad video game rage, and road rage. It’s extremely off putting because of his typically cold, monotone, personality. But if a game pisses him off enough you’ll catch him screaming and throwing things. Something might get caught on fire, be warned.

Xavier has discoloration on his nose, elbows, stomach, and fingertips. Those patches of skin are a raven colored purple. Though the school provides a bracelet to hide any of these parts of his mutations, as Audrey uses in public, Xavier does not use it. Instead he wears long sleeves and a mask that looks oddly similar to a plague doctors mask.
