Favorite Poem of Gurupriya Didi (Sri Gurupriya Ananda Giri, the name given to Her by Sri Anandamayi) Written by Rabindranath Tagore:
Bow my head down beneath the dust of Thy feet,
And drown all my vanities in the tears of my eyes.
Let not my self stand out boldly in my deeds.
Let Thy will come into its own in my life.
I crave for the Supreme Peace that Thou art,
And the highest Grace vested in Thee.
Take Thy stand right on the lotus petal of my heart,
Throwing out of focus my little self.
(Translated by Debaprasad Mukhopadhyay in his book "Matri Lila Darshan" in which he states this was Didi's favorite poem) These lines are so truly who Gurupriya Didi was in the over 50 years of Her devotion to Sri Anandamayi Ma. She was everything a genuine devotee should be.
