This
not a status update but I ran out of meds and I’m anxious and doing a lot of things so. Great news, I FINALLY GOT TO GO TO DUKE, and I am getting testosterone. Not sure when, cause it’s restricted and they need to update all my other doctors, but probably definitely before mid-april. It went a lot better than I thought and they’re totally behind me and I actually love the social worker there and things’re good with that. HOWEVER. I found out I actually weigh a lootttt more than I thought I did, and starting testosterone will actually increase my risk of pre-diabetes, which was already something I was worried about since I don’t eat great and I don’t exercise a lot and I’ve started shaking and getting faint when I’m just a little late eating (like, if I eat a small-ish breakfast at 7:00 I’ll be shaking by ~11:00.) They did do a blood glucose test and that might tell me, but the results aren’t in yet and I might have to get tested again. So I might set up an appointment with my PCP to check up on that.
Also, even if this all wasn’t concerning, I found out today that under these circumstances, I probably shouldn’t start exercising vigorously until I lose like 10 pounds, probably? So I’ve started looking into diet changes, and I should walk a lot more. Luckily I live pretty much on a big, long beach; but I’m gonna have to talk to my dad about changing our groceries. So, a lot more veggies, meat, and less grains. Hopefully he’ll agree to that with not much resistance. I did download a calorie-counting app and hopefully that helps. I used a laptop-based government one a while ago and it helped, I think. I ate a lot less and I’m pretty sure I remember losing weight. I’m okay with this, but it does throw a wrench in my plan of setting up a workout routine. I dunno. I was gonna set up that appointment for advice on this too, since I’m mostly getting this info from one source. SO. THAT ALL SUCKS. and I should really be getting other stuff done now, I just suddenly decided to do research on this and lost at least an hour.
