beth cassidy is the most Extra Bitch of all time, she was always doing Extra Things, like flinging herself off pyramids for no reason. 

however !! one thing you always fail to mention when spreading your hateful addy hanlon propaganda is that i respect beth IMMENSELY and vibe w/ the way she is gay. also she has some of the best quotes in the book like— “We are never deceived,” she says, her voice deep and ringing. “We deceive ourselves.”

i also can get behind beth cassidy being god ! god is a teenage girl ! the antithesis to the abyss, the creator, she made addy what she is.

i am loving all this super important dare me discourse & i'm very glad that everyone agrees on addy/beth being wondrously sapphic as fuck if on nothing else !!

the only important thing i took away from dare me tbh... that and addy working on her flips, because damn girl

idk but personally addy's relationship w coach made me kinda uncomfortable while reading?? i felt like there was a power inbalance right from the start,, , what are your thoughts

hmm that’s a completely understandable reaction; obviously coach kept addy in the dark about a lot of things which was a bit :// but the thing is, addy was using coach to get to the top. addy took what the coach taught her and did better, went higher. i feel like the way addy perceived the coach caused may not have been truly representative of their relationship.

it’s not exactly a positive dynamic, coach isn’t great with any of the girls, but it’s definitely an interesting one, especially in conjunction to beth – like, giving beth’s bracelet to coach, idk what it meant to coach but it was a power play against beth, it was meant for beth to see and be hurt by. beth thought the coach was using addy, but in the end, addy was using the coach for her own battle.

that's a relief tbqh! ( but surely loving addy warrants a queer girl badge too? oh man that scene when she stays over a sleep in the coach's bed ... i think about that a lot a lot )
