Okay tech question time

I need a new laptop. I'm starting to despise Windows and can't Linux to save my life so I'm looking at a Mac. Now I've saved up a bit of money but don't wanna go completely overboard. I'm looking at either a 2015 MacBook or a 2015 MacBook Pro. Anyone have any idea which would be better? For reference I'm a graduate student who's probably going to be using this thing to write really long papers, do presentations, and basic school work/Netflix.

Mac/iMovies advice needed

So, I’ve started to store a lot of video clips on my computer because I’ve been making fan vids lately. Obviously, they’re taking up a lot of memory. I use iMovies, which seems to require me to keep those clips on my computer to use them. Anyone know any work arounds that I could store the clips in the cloud and free up space on my computer?

MacBook Pro case advice

Just ordered my first Mac - a MacBook Pro with retina display! Does anyone have any advice on the difference in the magnitude or lack of protection between different types of cases? Hard shell vs regular (soft) vs wooden?
