These are my confessions…🙋🏻♀️🎨💄💅🏻🤷🏻♀️
Me, texting my friend the photo in the lower right corner: “Good news, I’m a make-up artist now.”
Friend: “Totally, you could be Kylie.”
Do you know how much 1 MAC eyeshadow retails for? $17. The last time I bought one (a hundred years ago), they were $11...and then $14. Two weeks ago, there was a “secret” MAC eye-shadow sale...$8.50(!). And...I bought ‘em all!!!! OK not really, but I bought a few! I don’t know anything about eyeshadow (as is evident from the photos from the last party I attended), but I know that a) they never go on sale and b) MAC is really good quality, and oh so purty and c) I need them. All of them. Blues, golds, shimmers, sparkles. I even accidentally ordered doubles (”Kid” and “Sable”...see, I even know all their names now).
I didn’t really think about the Mastercard due date when I was doing my mess (yikes), but they were on sale...and if I’m not mistaken, people are literally out here paying $29 for 1 lip-gloss (what?!). And, I’m pretty sure the old MAC eyeshadows I own (because I’m also a make-up hoarder, even though I don’t know how to apply any of it properly), are so old its not even safe to use them anymore, lol.
So, I did it. I was irresponsible, and ordered, bought, exchanged a buncha MAC eyeshadows. Even though I wear a camo shirt, levi’s, and work boots most days to go clear the alligator lizard hill out back. I guess I could schmear on some “Oh So Glitzy” eyeshadow to go with my outdoor ensemle, yes?
Happy Wednesday,
Fashion Brownie & Miss Ginger
p.s. the best MAC eyeshadow color was Honey Lust..and they don’t make it anymore (aaand that’s how long ago I was buying MAC, haha).

Hi guys!!
So in my 25 years on this lovely earth I have never tried MAC eyeshadows, I’ve tried lipsticks before and loved them ( I mean who doesn’t let’s be honest) but never eyeshadows. So after finding a palette on sale I decided it’s time to try it out. The palette is originally £26.00 and is called “Burgundy Times Nine” , now as you can imagine this palette features lots of warm browns, purples and shimmers. Now considering the original price of the palette I was a little confused why it was so small as I’ve had bigger 9 pan palettes before but as I got this a lot cheaper I’m letting it go.
So looking at the shades you’ll notice lots of warm toned eyeshadows which are my favourite to play with. Now part of me almost didn’t want to try this out because I always get told “Once you go Mac you don’t go back”, while I do adore this palette I’m still happy to stick to my Revolution given the price difference. Trying these eyeshadows out it’s easy to tell why everyone adores MAC shadows so much they’re easy to blend, very pigmented and the shimmer tones are gorgeous colours. I really enjoyed wearing these shades and I’m happy I finally got to try MAC out.
While it’s always fun to try something new I do tend to keep in mind the pricing of things and think how many Revolution palettes could I get for one of these. But I am really happy I got to live out the mini MAC dream today and try a palette I’ve had my eye on for ages.
Lots of love

MAC CHROMAT COLLECTION... AND SOME CLASSICS! Last month I attended a MAC Cosmetics event to celebrate their launch onto the Look Fantastic website. Whilst there I picked up a selection of products from their new limited edition CHROMAT collection, as well as a few classics from their permanent lines.
I wanted to show you the two lipsticks & eyeshadow palette from the limited edition collection, and two of their new metallic lipsticks. First up we have ‘#ShockValue’ a bright aqua Blue lipstick in a Amplified finish; Opaque full coverage finish, great pay-off with a light sheen to it. Then we have ‘Augmented Reality’ a strong candy Red in a Matte finish; No shine, full coverage and long lasting. Both feature the architecturally inspired bionic 3D patterned packaging, distinctive across the entire collection. RRP £16.50 / $17.50 each.
The two Metallic Lips I picked up at the event are named ‘Cold Front’ (pictured on the left below) which is a frosted periwinkle Blue, and ‘Anything Once’ a Blackened blue with multi-coloured pearl running throughout. As we know, metallic lips have been trending recently but personally I’m not the biggest fan, I think metallic lips belong on the catwalk or high fashion photo-shoots over everyday wear. But that’s just my taste, however, I do LOVE the colour of Cold Front. If you do fancy rocking the reflective lip, I would advise pairing it with a simple eye of just mascara and / or some spikey lashes. RRP £16.50 / $17.50 each.
Last but not least is the CHROMAT eyeshadow palette!
This really is beautiful! Once again, it features the special packaging distinctive to the CHROMAT collection. It contains a vibrant ocean Blue shade and a pearlescent deep Orange - which are complementary colours on the colour wheel, so this means they would work really well together for a contrasting look. The palette also contains a Brown with a Green pearl running through it, a rich Black, a pearlescent Navy, and a metallic gunmetal shade. All of these eyeshadows can be used wet or dry, perfect for a modern smokey eye with a pop of colour! Check out the swatches below:
Sabina Sangre: Deep Orange with Gold pearl
Duabandita: Brown with Green pearl
Structured Satin: Rich Black
Mindfiles: Metallic Silver with pearl
Triennial Wave: Vibrant ocean Blue
Blue Black: Navy Blue with Blue pearl
This limited edition palette retails for £25.00 / $32.00
