Ok Mac geeks. Any idea why my external hard drive suddenly after a week of not being plugged in decided that it doesn't want to show up on my computer? The hard drive works fine, the light is on and I can feel the disc spinning.

My computer reads .nef & .psd? Sweet!
One more reason why I love my Mac Mini with Lion on it. I found out recently that Preview reads more image types than it saves in.... including reading Photoshop images and Nikon Raw.
That's pretty sweet! I didn't even realize it until I opened some files by accident. One of the women from a local roller derby team had sent me some files to use to create flyers; she'd forgotten to convert them before hand but I soon found out that it didn't matter - my computer could read them anyway.
That's pretty awesome!
Of course now when I shoot with the Nikon, I prefer having them save as raw. Really, I try to avoid jpg as much as possible because I prefer lossless images over lossy.

On a related note...
There's this girl at the next table over in a coffee shop. I really want to walk up to her and ask her if I can replace her inverter board.
Her MacBook's backlight is going off like a strobe.
Like, how can she even stand using it?
