WORTH THE HYPE: MAC Strobe Cream
When it comes to MAC, it’s a common belief that many products from the brand are only popular because of their name and that multiple products are over-hyped and I’ll be the 1st person to admit that there is some truth to that ... MAC Strobe Cream is one of the brands most popular products, yet it wasn’t until a couple of months ago that I tried it. I can’t quite understand why it took me so long to give it a go, but let me tell you this, it wouldn’t matter which brand it was - this stuff is worth the hype. Being someone with dry skin I’m a lover of anything that makes me look dewy, glowy, well rested and well hydrated and MAC Strobe Cream does just that - it’s like sleep in a tube. This sheer, light-reflecting cream not only feels refreshing on the skin but, looks it to. In a way you could almost say it gives a glossy like quality to the skin. With a slight pearlescent tone this “cream” can be used underneath makeup to give the skin a pick-me up and make foundation apply smoother, mixed in with your foundation to make it creamier and dewy or ontop of foundation to highlight the highest points of the face. Super multi-use, this product makes the skin look healthy and alive, MAC’s strobe cream is well and truly worth the hype. Whilst the scent is a little heavy and the packaging dispenses waaaaaay too much product (when using this to highlight I really don’t need enough product to cover for my whole face) I’m wiling to overlook those characteristics for such a great product.

hi!! :) i'm sorry to bother you but what foundation do you put on your last post, in the pale girl with freckles? i'm just having such a hard time finding a foundation for my skin (wich is pale and pinky and with freckles) so it would really really help me :(
I used the Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo foundation in shade L 44 and MAC Strobe Cream (which is basically a moisturizer with light-reflecting properties, so it adds a little bit of a glow to the skin.) I used one pump of the foundation, and mixed about the same amount of the Strobe Cream with it. The foundation is full coverage and has a matte finish, so the Strobe Cream will not only add glow to the skin like I said before, but it also lightens up the coverage of the foundation, which will allow your freckles to show through. Hope this helps!! :)

Above is a little piece I did recently for U Magazine who asked me to give some insider top tips for looking after your skin so it always looks healthy and glowing. To read the full feature check out the latest issue of U Magazine (June Issue) page 61.
Quick Tip - Highlighters
Make-up artists use highlighters all the time, whether it's to give skin a subtle, all over glow or to define an area such as cheek bones. Highlighters like MAC Strobe cream or Benefit High Beam are packed full of light reflective particles that work to catch the light and bring attention to where they are placed. As a general rule cheek bones, cupids bow and just under brows are ideal places to add a little shimmer as they are parts of the face that light naturally falls upon anyway. If you have a wider or button nose, try dabbing a bit of highlighter along the bridge to bring the focus and attention to your eyes.
Highlighters can also be mixed in with foundation or alternatively body lotion to give an all over dewy finish that is perfect coming up the the summer months. Remember when using this trick though, a little goes a long way and there's a fine line between dewy and full on disco face!
Benefit & MAC are available in Brown Thomas
