Oh good God, I am so, so glad I have a place to be a whiny complainer now.
So basically I have this macbook laptop, right, and when the OS El Capitan update came out I was like
“Um, no thank you, Capitan.”
And that was that. But especially in the past two weeks, my browsers decided to start staging a coup against me. Safari would crash every day and I was murdering Chrome tabs like a military dictator left and right and then the FINAL STRAW was when my tumblr chat feature stopped working.
Let me tell you, nothing drives a person crazy like knowing you should be able to do something, but not being able to do it. Did I use tumblr instant messaging every day? Nope. But the minute it was gone, it was like life had suddenly become unbearable. WHY WHY WAS THIS HAPPENING. El Capitan, obviously, squeezing the fist of control.
So I got the update and the download took about 2 hours. Then the install took another three hours and this damn laptop restarted and booped and flashed bright screens and then black screens all the damn night. And THEN when I woke up in the morning (okay more like 11 am ) I got a bunch of messages saying that my software was no longer compatible with ol’ El Capitan.
My tablet. My scanner. My After Effects. Other Stuff I Would Maybe Need in the Future.
Not gonna lie, I may have gotten into the fetal position on my bed for a little while and clutched at my Cafe Rilakkuma while I pondered the costs of buying a new scanner and tablet, but eventually I got my shit together and hunted the internet for driver updates that would save my software. Now its the end of the day and I think I’ve saved everything…I’m still testing it out. But damn was that a horrible night/morning. D:
