I don't art much, but when I do it's almost always physical media. Also, bonus fun facts, Ogerpon is my favorite pokemon aside from maybe Tinkaton. I have her basic design committed to memory. I also happen to have aphantasia. Here's an example of a drawing with reference and a drawing without it (and a couple other drawings that were already on the page cause I was doodling/practicing).
Some things (like the hoodie opening in the middle and the markings on the face) I straight forgot; others (like the horns, stem, and shoes) I remembered but because I can hardly visualize, they came out badly (partially because I'm not that talented of an artist, but I think the difference in quality speaks volumes). Aphantasia is a real disability that can result in less detailed and/or less vivid memory as well as decreased sleep quality and insomnia. I think anyone dealing with it (especially those who have it worse than I do (for me, it comes through as hazy memory, dreamless sleep, visualized images appearing like the flicker of an old film tape, and mild sleep problems)) is amazing for handling it and the dedicated artists (like @kaylasartwork!) who do art despite it are even more amazing.
Ummmmmmmm I'm not sure how to end this so just remember: surround yourself with people you love; don't put up with assholes (that doesn't mean you have to retaliate); always give people a chance (that's what we call getting an actual impression of people); reach out to friends and loved ones if you feel like you need support, emotional support included; and give yourself the same grace you'd give others. Good night New York (I'm not from NY)!
