Classic fire engine
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share this image of a classic Mack CF fire engine that is currently in service for the North Riverside Fire Department in Illinois.
The image was taken on a very cold night at a 4-Alarm fire in the town of Cicero, IL. You can see that the street is covered with packed snow and there's snow on the bumper as well.
This was shot handheld with a Canon 5DMKII and a Canon 580EXII shoe-mount flash. One of the benefits of this older engine is that it's not covered with reflective striping to muck up and complicate flash photography.
It's great to still find one of these ... not only in service, but pumping at a fire scene.
