Oh boy. Okay. Ohh-kay.
I’m pro-Uchiha, so to say. I do believe their actions were warranted, considering that they were under harsh surveillance all the time, barred from inter-village decisions, and completely removed from the center of the village. The Uchiha had been systematically pushed out of the center of the village for years, first politically, and then physically after the kyuubi attack led by Obito. Yes, they were a founding clan–Uchiha Madara, ironically, was the one to help found the village. Not someone from the Sarutobi, not the Shimura, not the Yamanaka or the Aburame.
Why would any of the other clans have more of a claim to that spot than someone of the Uchiha/Senju bloodline? They don’t. They didn’t face the discrimination that the Uchiha faced–no, the Uchiha may have been branded mentally unstable–but it’s becoming quite apparent that a shinobi’s life leaves mental scarring.
Doubly so, considering the sharingan records everything in stunning detail. Not only is this a failing for the Uchiha-clan–but for everyone, the lack of mental healthcare. it is not until after the war that Sakura realizes this and makes a point of mental healthcare. This is too-little-too-late.
The Uchiha were systematically failed by the government that their clan leader helped found. They were disrespected, hated, and abhorred but still stayed in the village. Finally, they decided to rise to make their lives better. And that ultimately led to their demise at Itachi’s hands.

I noticed during that time where Fugaku and Itachi’s relationship became a bit strained, that they never truly showed Itachi’s relationship with Mikoto. Actually, they never did seem to touch on that at all. Personally, I feel as though Itachi didn’t really confide in his mother at all. But he always made sure to help around the house when he got home so she could relax. And I feel as though, that even though he loves her as only a son could love his mother, he craved a stronger bond with her, because he loved when she used to brush his hair and just let him lay his head in her lap. He simply wants to have more of those moments with her.
I agree with the early to mid twenties thing TBH. I could believe as low as 19 though. It's not an immaturity thing, I promise, but sometimes your writing has a really nice unrestrained vibe. I find a lot of older writers take themselves too seriously but you don't seem to which is super refreshing.

Itachi’s ANBU mission had gone south, and quickly. His team had been reverse ambushed from both sides and most of his team ended up dead. Once more, he couldn’t squash the feeling that it was his fault, that he should have been stronger. He had peeled off his uniform and put it in the wash, clad only in his underwear, hoping no one would see him. But alas, his mother did.
Luckily, Hatake-taichou knew some healing jutsu, so he didn’t need the hospital, but there was no way he was going to tell his mother that he’d skipped out on the hospital visit.
“I..got that one on my latest mission.” He offered.
Day with Grandma
The young girl, 7 years old, looked at her packed bag with a smile on her face.
Sakura had been asked to stay a few nights at the hospital to attend to some ill ninja. Her father was still out on a mission - it had been 3 years since the last time she saw him. With no neither of her parents being around to watch her, this meant that she had to go to Grandma’s.
She was in deep thought about her parents, especially Sasuke, who she missed dearly. She could barely remember his face. However, her thoughts were disturbed by the familiar ring of the doorbell.
It must be Grandma. She got up from the sofa, her bag in her hand, and walked towards the door. Remembering her safety, she looked through the door’s peephole to make sure it was her Grandmother. Slowly, she opened the door.
“Hi, Grandma.” She looked up at the older woman, a frown on her face as she was still thinking about Sasuke.

Madara blearily looked up at Mikoto, his eyes opening and then closing as his arms wrapped around her shoulders. What a way to be woken up–by soft kisses from a lover..
“Mikoto,” He spoke, “Goodmorning..”
The last word was thick with sleep, but he was slowly becoming more alert to the world around him, and he smirked slightly.
“You couldn’t resist until I woke?” It was teasing, and he tilted his head to kiss her softly on the lips, “No matter, it was an enjoyable way to wake..”
