Project Badass Monday: Mac McDonald x [Trying to be] A Badass
Mac's rejection from his dad is so fundamental to him that he created a god to fulfill Luther's position in Mac's life even when he's not there. Mac made his god in Luther's image: conditional love, demanding, unforgiving, mostly absent. Mac's worldview was shook when he met those christian gays on the boat because Mac's god is supposed to hate him for being gay just like Luther hates Mac for being gay. Mac wants to earn his father's love and yet he believes in a god who will not love him for who he is the same way Luther doesn't. Mac created a father figure to reject him again.
It's Tank Top Tuesday!! Mesh shirt? Totally sweet!
I'm doing a drag number where I go from homophobic Mac to extremely gay Mac and I'm working on the track. I have my own, but what are y'alls favourite homophobic/super gay Mac moments and quotes?
ok so in the gang goes to hell, mac tells the gang he’s gay and everyone replies along the lines of no fucking shit. ok fine but also charlie says “yeah, always” and im wondering what that means?? it could have been an exaggeration but it also could have been a callback to the fact that they’ve been best friends since grade school. it could easily mean he’s known mac is gay since as far back as junior high/middle school or even before and never thought to bring it up because he just didn’t give a shit about that sort of thing and then suddenly mac was acting straight with dennis and suddenly throwing himself into the bible (wow what a coincidence) and charlie was whip-lashed in confusion because he knows mac so well and had to see this pattern continue throughout the rest of their entire friendship until mac finally accepted himself as gay over a decade later. i need to know what that always means
mac proclaiming himself "the sheriff of paddy's" and the head of security and constantly practicing his karate moves because he really just wants to make sure everyone's safe and that no one will be leaving him anytime soon 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫
