I don’t know if anyone’s shared this on the doc yet but I’m going to after I send this, you should have a look into some of the hardships that Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan faced both before and after the Untamed. A lot of it is to do with some really vicious fanatical fans and anti-fans but there’s also the treatment that XZ got from his management company and WY’s health problems :(

I’ve heard some of it, mostly about XZ. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) I’ve been in fandom long enough for the vicious side of it to not surprise me anymore. Both guys have really Been Through It, and all we can do is hope they have a good support system in place and know how to shut out the extremists to the best of their ability.

I was wondering too and then I started reading fanfics. Having read the book, in terms of canon moments it's about the same as the show, I think it's the parallels between Jiang Cheng's situation and Zewu-Jun's. Both of them are betrayed by their brothers. So a lot of fanfic is about the two of them helping and supporting one another after Nightless City and Guanyin Temple and getting together subsequently. Plus Zewu Jun fits all the traits JC wants in a partner (the list).

Ahhh, that makes sense. Fandom really does create lovely OTPs out of mostly conjecture sometimes, it’s pretty fab.

Me neither! And it was especially surreal since I filmed the first episode of Hannibal as the last episode of Untamed dropped O.O

I enjoyed this series more than I can say. I’m spoiled for BL dramas now and that’s all there is to it.

Saw your Untamed 41 reaction: It's the dimples. The dimples lied to us. ;-; I mean the casting in this show is just A* all around but yeah Yao's actor is amazing

Honestly if I was the casting director for this show I would have wept when that actor came in to audition. That is a practically impossible role to cast and he just fell right out of the heavens, what the fuck.

What I love about The Untamed, especially the first time watching it, was despite knowing how everything was going to end up I was never able to guess how it would happen. Too often I’ve been able to guess how shows gets from point a to point b and I was never able to predict HOW things would happen. Not only that but all of the ways things happened was always better than what I predicted. God I love this show.

Out of interest, that ship you mentioned as being confusing - in the sense that it didn't seem to have much canon evidence despite being so popular - was it Xicheng? (Zewu-Jun x Jiang Cheng)?

You are correct, sir and/or/nor madam. Is it like a book thing or...?
