Not quite #24 hours, but there is still completion!
The whole dress is made out of about one and a half yards of scrap fabric my RA gave me after she finished her sewing class. Based on its feel/movement, I think the fabric is linen. I finished the dress with three gold buttons that I had been holding onto from an oversized, militant style dress.
I tried to hand stitch the button holes but the result looks absolutely awful because the fabric itself is so thin. I should have used a backing or interfacing. They serve their function, and if I eventually get the chance, I’ll go back and remake them. I ran out of fabric for the bottom flounce so it is actually made up of about six separate variously sized pieces sewn together. Luckily, the ruffles are deep enough to hide all the seams!
I wish I could have stuck with the 24 hour challenge but life. I am pleased to have finished a project and with how it turned out in the end :)
