"Hi there." The dark-haried girl smiled and waved. "I'm Hiroko."
A Ball of Whiteout || Frost and The Girl
He seemed like a spiteful character, most definitely...
The Girl worried for her old kitten. It wasn't a legal or documented possession, but seeing as how it wasn't anyone else's and was pretty much living by itself, she decided to keep it and call it hers. No name was given- it was going to be anonymous, just like her.
And now the Girl was thinking about the poor little feline and the new owner she had given her to. He seemed very dark, very...minacious isn't the right word, she thought. More among the lines of untouchable or forlorn. There wasn't really a good adjective to describe him, unless you got down to the basics.
Sad and scary. Those were good, she'd stick with them. And that was just why she gave him the kitten in the first place. He looked like he could use a dozen.
Rolling over onto her back, the Girl sat up in the grass and looked up to the stars. She hadn't slept in a good, warm bed for awhile- her money situation wouldn't permit it, and God forbid she even buy a blanket. No, only her dress could keep her warm in the frigid weather. It wasn't even supposed to be that cold yet, it being only halfway through autumn. Shouldn't there be some warmth in the night still? No, maybe not.
I really do worry for that poor thing. What if he hasn't fed her at all? What if she's just out there, alone again?
"Oh, I need to do something about this," she said to herself, standing up on her feet. The Girl was the equivalent of exhausted and ravished, but she put it aside to go out and attempt to find that boy from earlier. Perhaps he had actually even kept the little cat, but was maybe unsure as to how to care for it? She didn't know, but she felt that she would be of some help either way.
So, the Girl started to retrace her steps. She had been in a rather unpopulated stretch of land when she found him and there weren't many guidelines as to where she had even walked, so it was going to be a chore.
"Never the mind, I'll get there soon enough, just watch me."

Need a Name || AU || Jackson and Amelia
"I'll not have you in this household!" she screeched. "Pack up and get a move on, you've got thirty minutes starting now!"
"Oh please, you can hardly expect to toss me out in the middle of-"
"But I most certainly can! Get. Out!"
Amelia looked straight into the other woman's eyes, taken aback at both her demand and the expression on her face. She'd never seen such pure anger- it almost radiated off of this lady's body, practically consuming her. The scene terrified Amelia, who, with a steady chin, slowly turned around and silently exited the room with as much poise as she could conjure. Only when she felt that she was well out of sight did she even allow her eyes to mist up, never crying but allowing the tears to blur her vision.
In her room, she had found a single trunk, which was destined to hold few articles of clothing and the cruel joke she referred to as her savings (though it had built up over the years). Even as she packed, Amelia remained calm, as if she were only getting ready for a trip to the coast. Dresses folded, socks and stockings rolled up neatly alongside, money pouch hidden under the gloves...and she was set. It hadn't even taken thirty minutes, more like ten. She was ready to “get out”.
With her case in hand, Amelia again walked quietly, but this time to the front door. Grabbing her woolen hood and cape from a peg, she took one last look around the home she had grown up in for just about nineteen years. Her mother, the one casting her out, stood and watched Amelia with fiery eyes, arms crossed and lips twisted into a grimace. It was time for her to go.
She opened the heavy wooden door and was taken aback by the frozen blast that swirled into the house, threatening to blow out the flames in the fireplace, and worse yet, chill Amelia to the bone. But she had to leave- no telling what would happen if she didn't. So she stepped out, feet plunging into the snow, and shut the door behind her.

The landowner stared at Amelia, puzzled. He had sold homes to women before, but they had been married or with children. This girl was barely over eighteen, as well as single. How had she amassed enough currency to even consider purchasing the house? Where were her parents? Oh well. It wasn't any of his business anyways.
"And you're sure you wanna buy this establishment?" he asked.
Amelia looked at him with a cold smile. "With all due respect, sir, if I wasn't interested in buying, this transaction wouldn't be taking place, would it?"
"Well then, I...suppose not," he coughed. "Just sign here." He pointed to the designated spot, and she put down her full name in the neat cursive she had mastered. It was done. She had a home, one that she was assured to always belong to. The retailer opened the cabins door for her and allowed her to step inside, to view her new dwelling. It was relatively new, being only three years old- it's old owners had just moved to a different settlement, and gave it to her for half price in a rush to relocate.
Within a few hours, Amelia had been able to purchase basic necessities; she might not have a post bed, but at least she had a blanket and stuffed pillow. Cooking might be a problem, but she'd manage.
Standing absent mindedly in the middle of the one room house, she started thinking of all the things she needed to do in order to, well...live on her own.
The only thing that puzzled her was the first step. Where to begin?
Jack pissing Elie off by blowing snow in her hair. I can't draw faces I sorry.
