Trainer Todd Pletcher announced yesterday, Friday 24 April 2015, that Madefromlucky not will run in the Kentucky Derby in a week’s time.
The handsome son of Lookin At Lucky will instead be pointed towards the Peter Pan Stakes at Belmont on 9 May.
After a poor workout yesterday, with John Velazquez in the irons, Todd recommended the owners to let the colt skip the Derby, since he did not “handle the surface well, especially on the turns.”
With Madefromlucky out of the Derby, Keen Ice gets in, who will be ridden by Kent Desormeaux.
