Don't touch that paintpot! Three different sites within a few footsteps of each other in Wimborne High Street.
A threshold mosaic in excellent condition. Often mosaics include the name of the premises but here they've just chosen this elegant floral design which is included in the Carter and Co catalogue of 1904.
Some rather worn encaustic tiles just about holding their own on a doorstep. Ceramic is a highly durable material but being trodden on for a century or so takes its toll.
And then one of my pet hates, a paint over. There's some tiles under this deadly grey camouflage wanting to get out and shine!
