Chapter 1/Prologue - The Smallest One, Was Jane
masterlist | next chapter (coming soon)
In a small house in Paris that was covered in vines, lived twelve little girls in two straight lines. In two straight lines they broke their bread, and brushed their teeth, and went to bed.
They smiled at the good, and frowned at the bad.
And sometimes they were very sad.
They left the house at half past nine, in two straight lines; in either rain or shine, it didn’t matter what the weather conditions were, they always went after their breakfast.
The smallest one, was Jane Ives. She was an orphan, both parents dead. Her father was in the Royal Navy, he died in action and her mother died giving birth to her and her aunt didn’t want the burden of a child so she sent the young girl to boarding school when she turned five years old.
