Finding Friendship in Business | Sebastian & Yuzuki

“Ah, I’m out of gemstones...” Yuzuki sighed softly as he looked through his crafting supplies. There was a new hairpin that he had been working on, but the lack of red stones meant that the piece would remain unfinished until he restocked his supply. With only one place to go, since he was in no way suited to be going into the mines himself, Yuzuki got dressed and headed for the Leuda Mining Company. He entered the shop with a small piece of paper in his hand, a small shopping list of other gems he’d been running low on as well.

“Good afternoon.” Yuzuki gave a small wave as he approached the counter and the employee that stood behind it. “The weather is getting warmer, isn’t it?” The air conditioning inside of the shop was most certainly welcomed compared to the heat outside. “I’ve got a small list of things I need today, so I hope it won’t be too much trouble.”

BttP: Welcoming Committee

“Sorry Pops, gotta go!” Luke scrambled down the stairs of the family home belonging to the Hunts and grabbed his backpack filled with nearly nothing as he hurried out of the house. If he remembered correctly, there was a new kid moving to Leuda and the boat had docked yesterday. As much as he wanted to catch them at the docks, Luke’s father at least managed to keep the wild teen at home long enough to let the newcomer get settled overnight.

Luke adjusted his bandanna atop his head, electric blue hair sticking out wildly regardless of the head wear. The teen had designated himself as the unofficial welcoming committee for Leuda and made it his responsibility to make sure everyone who moved to the island knew all about the good spots to hang out at. Plus, it let him get out of doing any of the work his dad or school assigned to him...

“Hey!” Luke yelled out as he spotted an unfamiliar boy loitering around one of the previously empty homes. “You’re the new kid, right? What’s up! My name is Luke! I’m the welcoming committee, heh.”

BttP: Start of Something | Sebastian & Rachel

After opening up the second location of her cafe, Rachel was extremely nervous. She had confidence in her Elysia location, but now that she was on Leuda... Well, there was no telling what kind of business she’d have. There were so many other competing eateries, and she had to do something to bring customers in. So, the decision was made to make the new cafe a maid-themed one. While it was embarrassing at times, it certainly gave the place the gimmick she needed to attract attention and customers.

Rachel stood behind the counter with an iced coffee in hand and used her other hand to tuck some loose hair behind her head, manicured nails brushing past the headband that went with the uniform. It was still just before the lunch rush, so there were no customers in yet, which meant that Rachel had some time to relax before getting to work.

The relaxation time didn’t last for long, though, as the door opened and the bell atop the door frame jingled, announcing the arrival of a customer. Rachel turned to the door and gave her best, most cheerful smile.

“Hi~! Welcome! Table for how many?”

Dylas shifted the weight of cloth bag in his fingers, gazing up at the cloudy, twilight sky. He had ventured to the far-off Mineral Supermarket after a trip to Agate’s to feed his wolf. Luckily, it had been on his path back to the Bell Hotel, and he’d wanted to pick up some particular dried spices that the supermarket sold. He stood adjacent to a storefront he hadn’t recalled seeing before, and yet he wondered how it hadn’t caught his eye previously.

Images flashed across the fogged glass, and Dylas stared with intent at the small screens displaying pictures. It... didn’t make sense that the pictures were moving. He didn’t know if he’d ever seen anything like it in his lifetime. With a blink, he realized his legs had subconsciously taken him inside the store. A sign hung above the counter read “The Collector’s Closet.” and the store smelled of smoke and musty dust. Dylas stared ahead at a single man behind the counter who was gaunt and pale, striking hair covering most of his expression.

Dylas caught the employee’s eye before nodding slowly, a silent agreement that he was ‘just looking.’ The half-beast walked over to a large machine with buttons and levers, his eyes glowing with curiosity. Tentatively, the man reached out and smashed a random button, and the screen flashed before him. He took another stab at it and moved the lever, which noticeably had no affect on the machine. He grit his teeth, frustration with the machine already growing before jamming his toe against the bottom of the machine. He barely caused it to move, but came away with a pounding toe and more anger.
