Sometimes I need to temper my desire to create a pattern on fabric with how actually feasible it is for me to produce. I think there is a future for my more intricate ideas but realistically at this moment in time I need to focus on what I can create that doesn’t involve too much of my time. Everything I create by hand takes time, but there is also some techniques I can spend too much time on. I wanted to create a very simple pattern on linen yet when thinking on how to manipulate the fabric to dye it, the technique i had come up with just wasn’t there. I had an idea on how I could manipulate the fabric around a pole, perhaps it would work and create the pattern I desire but instead I have created something else with a similar look using a technique I am quite good at and could do fast...fast being two hours. Those ideas I so want to do will just have to wait their day until I figure out a feasible way to create the design.....I’m always determined and love a challenge. #shibori #thefutureishandmade #madeupstateny #indigodye #iloveachallenge

Dry cleanable, chk. I check every now and again dry cleaning my pieces making sure the items hold up well. I do recommend though to be more friendly to the environment by hanging item after each wear, spot clean with cool water and mild soap and then dry clean only when necessary. #howtocleanrules #ilivetodye #katrinreifeiss #madeupstateny
