Ho gli occhi stropicciati come le lenzuola in camera,
il letto ancora come quando tu eri ancora qua.
Io mi sentivo così solo da pensare che
nessuno si sentisse così solo tranne me,
ma tu sei un girasole, giri sola
sai bene come ci si sente
quando vuoi gridare ma non dici niente,
quando vuoi piangere ma ridi sempre.

3 AM thoughts luckily not for some thots,
Instead for a woman i’m sure won’t be for naught,
Beautiful smart and with a heart of gold
Respectful valuable and equally bold
With sweet hazel eyes and a beautiful smile
Vanilla cream lotion that smells love from a mile
God Cupid drove by and got me shot
And straight from my heart i’m thankful a lot
vertigo.
On Witnessing:
I love the The Sun when it rises/appears, because it reminds me of the appearance of pure love without any partnership
And no star is seen when she makes an appearance, either from above or from below
And so, O Maya, you have appeared in the eye of my heart, and everything other than you has disappeared
I see you whenever I see other-than-you, because I see you in it, and I don't see other than you whenever I see you
—Shaykh Manna Abba “Shaykhānī” wuld Muḥammad al-Ṭulbā, “Dīwān” (transl. Muṣṭafā’ Okon-Briggs)

The third most well-known qaṣīda of Imām al-Busīrī (d. 1294) is the Hamziyya. A Hamziyya is a panegyric poem (madḥ) all of whose verses rhyme in the Arabic letter hamza. Imām al-Busīrī wrote this 400+ verse poem which contains the biography and history of our Beloved Liege, the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ. It is well known that Ḥassān bin Thābit, a companion of Prophet ﷺ (may Allāh ﷻ be well-pleased with him), wrote a Hamziyya in his honour, as well. This particular one was a favourite of my shaykh, Sīdī Aḥmad at-Tijānī al-Ḥasanī.
