Trivia: The 'Shungetser Lake' in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh was renamed 'Madhuri Lake' after the shooting of a Bollywood song featuring @Madhuridixitnene for the movie 'Koyla'. Formed by an earthquake which struck the Tawang region in 1971, the lake has numerous dead tree trunks emerging from the blue water. This unique sight along with the snow capped mountains around the area make 'Madhuri Lake' a photographer's paradise.

The Sangetsar Lake in Tawang was formed as a result of an earthquake in 1973 when a part of the mountain caved in forming a locked water body. The lake was given another nickname "Madhuri Lake" in the 90s when a song sequence on Madhuri Dixit was filmed here for the film 'Koyla'. The lake is about 3 hours drive away from the Tawang Town. My #Titanic Floating in snow field of Sangester lake only me and nobody around ...except Army canteen and hot served Choley Bhaturey... I have been to Tawang twice so far but always wish to visit again and again as that drive from Guwahati to Tawang and further brings so many flavour of nature from plan land surrounded with river and forest and wild life to mountains further achieve if heights stores with snow bordering Bhutan, China at one end. Many layers to cover during this journey...and not to miss sela pass halt for sure. Recommended even by army.
