A Long Night; Ditto and Reiko

“Sector Three is clear.” That was good. It meant that all three sectors of the building were clear for the pop star to head to the stage.

Even though Ditto wasn’t fond of the revenue, or the area, a job was a job. She was assigned to go undercover and get close to the famous musician and arrest the person responsible for hacking into Reiko’s accounts and taking money. As Reiko’s bodyguard, the job seemed easy. However, that wasn’t the case.

There were no leads and everyone was suspicious in her books. Including the group of law enforcement officers she was working with.

“Miss Kagome?” The blue-haired female knocked on the celebrity’s dressing room door. “It’s time. You’re needed on stage.”

It was going to be a long night.

What had started out as a typical night in Castelia City would soon become much more memorable as Jax sat in his idling yellow cab, awaiting his next passenger. He had been lingering there for no more than a minute when the curbside door swung open for long enough for someone to stumble into the back seat. His golden eyes automatically glanced up at the rear-view mirror to have a look at the stranger, who happened to be a familiar face.

Immediately, he recognized the woman’s vivid blue hair and signature style as belonging to the popular musician Reiko Kagome. But even more prominent to him was her demeanor; she was very clearly distressed by something or another. His first instinct was that she may have been in danger, but a reactionary glance around the vehicle confirmed that she wasn’t being pursued, at least.

"Miss, are you alright?” he asked gently, glancing over his shoulder at her. Typically he would first ask where the passenger would like to go, but this was certainly a special case. His voice and gaze were both as soft as he could manage, not wanting to disturb the musician’s fragile state any further. “Is there something I can do?”

Yoichi ground his cigarette into the concrete as his watch beeped, signaling that it was back to work for him.  He picked up the butt and tossed it into the nearby trash -- littering was illegal -- before hitting the road.  He wasn’t doing a particularly good job of looking out for trouble today, but it’d been a tame week; he was falling into a false sense of security.  Next thing he knew he’d probably be fighting off a rabid Patrat or--

He saw the back of a familiar head and stopped in his tracks.  Reiko was absolutely the last person he felt like having a conversation with at the moment, but unfortunately there really wasn’t a way to get around her.  Yoichi was almost 100% sure she could sense when he was nearby.  He could try to walk to the other side of the street, but she’d inevitably see him.  There weren’t any nearby alleyways to use as an escape route.  What he really wanted to do was turn around and walk the opposite way, but he had a certain beat to walk and he wasn’t about to change it just because she was hanging around.

His eyes refocused as he decided on his plan, only for him to notice that Reiko had indeed noticed him while he was doing emergency planning and was now standing directly in front of him.

“Oh, great.  It’s you.”

hey guys!! its deerys / donuts, sorry i know i took a hiatus on caitlin but i dont think i have the time to keep more than one muse up and active! i'm going to have to drop her, thanks for the fun times!!!
