Madison: You’re so cute when you’re grumpy. They’re calling you a hero, you know! First on the scene, CPR—” Jared: Hero? Don’t tell me you put that on your damn blog. The guy’s dead, Madison. Madison: Oh, um… I know that, of course, it’s just what people are— never mind. I’ll take it down. Call me tonight? Jared: I know you’re eavesdropping, Goth. You can come out now. And by the way, you’re late. You’re not immune to being fired just because you’re hot, you know. Frida: Wow, Madison VanWatson is super lucky to be dating you... By the way., you reek of whiskey. I can smell it from here. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to be drinking on the job, Jared… Jared: 'Dating’ is a strong word. And if I want your opinion, I’ll ask for it, Goth. Emma: Guys, stop flirting and get in the kitchen! Your shifts started almost ten minutes ago. And Jared, can you please call someone to fix the freezer door—I almost got locked in there earlier!

I'm SO sorry that Jared is such a piece of shit. I swear there's going to be some character development. I usually like to give my characters a lot of room for personal growth, but I might have made Jared start out just a bit too far on the shitty side. 😅 I hope you'll bear with me!
(Also, I will talk more about this in the next part, in which I subject you to a feminist/anti-capitalist ramble. 😉)
