i like the detail of madeleine sliiightly pursing his lips when compared to financier's sprite counterparts bc i'd argue that financier has spent more time training in direct combat compared to madeleine (evident by him mentioning practicing "cloak whirling" in his academia days and financier having no recollection of such thing) and she's more sure of herself on the battlefield. both that and madeleine's sensitivity getting the best of him </3
