Friendly question because I’m confused— Who do you ship Rex with? Kit or Anakin-? Because you have fics that suggest Rex likes both?
I have never understood people who only ship two people and then refuse to consider other options.
Like. Rex could be into Kit or Rex could be into Anakin. The fics aren't in the same au so it's not like it's happening at the same time. And don't even start on the plethora of ships I have for Kit, and Dara. I even have multiple ships for Fox. I like considering the different options and see what would happen, how that character would act with this person, how the relationship would change them. Also I very rarely have just one version of the character rattling around in my head. The inconsistent writing of TCW really helps me in that aspect. The version of Rex that I ship with Kit is a very different version of the Rex that I think would work well with Anakin, and I don't have a preference for either.
Think of it like making cocktails. I put the characters in the shaker, shake it up and see what comes out. I like the combination of lime (Kit) and strawberry (Rex) and much as I like the combination of lime (Kit) and mint (Dara), it just depends on what I'm in the mood to drink. Make sense?
Truthfully I don't even like Rex and Anakin as a couple that much, I much prefer the dynamic created if you throw Padmé in the mix if I like it at all, but it was a prompt and I was happy to give it a go!
Maybe it's because I'm polyamorous, but it really confuses the hell out of me when people go 'this person likes this person alone'. Like fine, go off, but I do not get it. It does not work in my brain.
Sorry, this was quite a long answer to a simple question, I just don't understand other people and this seemed like a good place to talk about it. And also, I kind of hate using the word 'ship' in this context but I couldn't think of a better way to phrase it.
