so with finally receiving my preorder of XTransbots Maedas (had been sitting on having it shipped in the hopes that the green version I had also preordered would come into stock at the same time) I finally have all three of their Masterpiece-style takes on the G1 Omnibots, and they're all pretty okay
Maedas, being the last one to release, is the most solid; it has some troublesome parts of the transformation but both modes are very put together once there it's a good take on the G1 Camshaft design with solid joints and no particular weaknesses
Yaguchi has good legs and the arms are okay, but the torso is very janky; the roof of the car mode doesn't really go into place in robot mode super well and has a lot of motion possibility, and the "ab-crunch" hinge joint above the waist is fairly loose despite being a pinned joint overall it's fine, but has notable weaknesses in the robot design the car mode is solid at least
Fioravanti is overall okay but has a lot of issues in its legs; most of the panels that should lock together to form the lower legs are made of die-cast metal and do not friction together very tightly, making posing the legs and feet difficult to keep tidy all of the joints are solid so nothing's felt like it'll break but there's a reason at least one person developed a 3D-printed set of parts to shore up the leg solidity and a couple of issues with the arms above the waist it's pretty okay aside from the way the hands extend from the forearm not having a locking point the car mode is probably the weakest of the three mostly due to some loose-ish joints for the parts for the 'flight' mode
can definitely see why some people aren't super happy with them and they definitely show a lot of the expected XTransbots jank but they're good figures
