This figure is something I’ve dreamed of for years, a highly articulated, sturdy, mostly show accurate Masterpiece style Cybertron Starscream.
After the fan drama over the initial cancellation of this figure, I’m elated they finally released him, and he’s an excellent start for me to get into the 3rd party market for Transformers. With Maketoy’s announcement of a Cybertron Prime and Cybertron Megatron this TFCon, I’m elated to see what next they have to offer.
Meteor himself is dead solid, with wonderful articulation, including an ab crunch, waist swivel, ankle tilts, even new articulation in his shoulders for posing his shoulder-pads, and new hidden arms for the pylons hanging off of them, over 90 degree elbows and knees. The knees have clever covers integrated into the back, they spring into place and collapse for transformation.
The transformation is smooth, outside of the tabs that “lock” in the legs, and getting the arms into place, those steps are a little awkward. The instructions are printed on thick, sturdy paper and are very clear and easy to read. The vehicle mode is a little unstable in the middle, but otherwise slick and sexy. c:
