I really think there is a good chance his dad was a bad guy. That maybe he hurt him or something. Why would Molly pull the plug on him without reason? She was so in tune with Henry so I think if his dad was up to no good that would give her motive to do it to get him out of Henry’s life. Also they made it seem like Henry’s Mom and Alan may have already had something going on before the dad died... maybe he wasn’t so good to her either.
Ohhh definitely. There’s no way you’re a Reverend in Castle Rock without either becoming immensely familar with and in combat with the evil that lives there (like eternally put upon Former Sheriff Alan Pangborn) or more likely (given what we’ve seen so far as well as King’s own general dislike of religion) being completely corrupted and in service of a far darker force. I’m definitely leaning towards the later, especially given his quotations of one of the creepiest sections of Corinthians, young Henry’s clear anger towards his dad, the constant use and vagueness of the word “Lord” and most damning to me, the Warden’s own doubt of the religious fervor he felt, even beginning to doubt that it was God that was actually guiding his hand when he imprisoned the Kid. The show is already making us doubt the legitimacy of ANYONE feeling motivated by Christianity by having the guy to kick it all off say he might have been wrong, which clearly spells “DO NOT TRUST HENRY’S DAD”
