Later in the day, Team Canada opened their campaign for the most prized gold medals of all (in Canada anyway) – the men's Ice Hockey. Putting on quite the show, Team Canada, assisted by some flawless goal tending by the Vancouver Canuck's own Roberto Luonogo, clinically accounted for Norway with a big 8-0 win. Jarome Iginla and Danny Heatley picked up a pair each while "Sid the Kid" chimed in with 3 assists.

The big win was enough to create quite the celebration within the beer tent at LiveCity Downtown where I was taking in the game with my mates TJ and Adrienne. As we headed back into the center of town, we noticed that the rest of Vancouver seemed to have been watching the game and were taking their happiness into the streets.
The intersection of Robson and Granville Streets was overflowing in a way I don't think I've ever seen before. And this was just a pool game win!!!
