the courtroom buzzed with tension, as y/n y/l/n, highly skilled and known for her quick retorts, faced the jury. she was in an all-out war with a condescending christian who seemed to enjoy hurling his sexist remarks about her during the proceedings.
“i'm sure the jury is smart enough to decipher emotional manipulation by ms. y/l/n,” christian spat, itching with his overly expensive tie. “come on, don’t they teach women in college about emotional manipulation these days? because, that's exactly what's happening here!”
a shift of anxious whispers traveled across the court, but y/n simply raised an eyebrow and continued her points. she had grown to expect patronizing men like christian, and all dismissive of her just for being a woman. she had suffered much worse in this world, yet somehow, she always came out victorious.
as the suit dragged on, christian's quotes got more and more frequent, and too intrusive. he gave her directions about how to dress, what to say, and even what to do. while y/n was calm, she was also trying to put the flames of rage out. she certainly was not going to let this man’s crude sexism prevail.
the case revolved around a complex corporate fraud scheme, where christian's client, a powerful conglomerate, was accused of swindling millions from unsuspecting investors. y/n, representing the plaintiffs, had meticulously built her case, exposing a trail of deceit and manipulation that led directly to christian's client.
christian, however, resorted to personal attacks, hoping to distract the jury from the overwhelming evidence against his client. he questioned y/n's competence, suggesting that her success was due to her "feminine charm" rather than her legal acumen.
"i'm surprised ms. y/l/n even understands the intricacies of this financial matter," christian scoffed, "perhaps she should stick to cases that are more... emotionally driven."
y/n gritted her teeth, but refused to rise to the bait. she knew that christian was trying to provoke her, to make her lose her composure. but she was determined to remain professional, to let her legal skills speak for themselves.
the trial dragged on, with christian's sexist remarks becoming more and more unbearable. y/n endured it all, focusing on her arguments, presenting her evidence with unwavering confidence. she was determined to win this case, not only for her clients but also for all the women who had been underestimated and belittled by men like christian.
finally, the moment came when christian made a particularly nasty comment about her "emotional instability," suggesting that her arguments were based on feelings rather than facts. y/n had had enough. she reached into her purse, pulled out her ID, and walked over to christian, her eyes blazing.
"can you read out my name, please?" she asked, her voice dangerously soft.
christian smirked, thinking he had won. "sure, whatever," he said, taking the id from her hand. he glanced at it, and his eyes widened in shock. His face paled, and he started to stammer.
"y/n y/l/n- y/l/n norris?" he stuttered, his voice barely a whisper. "but... but that's..."
"yes," y/n interrupted, her voice now ringing with authority. "it's also the last name of lando norris, the most influential, not to mention dangerous, man in the city. my husband."
the buzz between the people in the courtroom, was subtle yet frightening. christian looked like a corpse and was one more second away from truly fainting. what he did not know was that wife of the mob boss he was insulting repeatedly was in fact married.
“apologies, mrs. norris,” christian softly murmured, trembling. “i really did not know.”
“y/l/n-norris. and, that’s correct. you did not,” y/n cut off. “you were so preoccupied in being a sexist pig that you could not notice anything else.”
turning to the judge, she continued in the same cool and controlled tone, “your honour, this case is as clear cut as they come, there is no additional information that i would like to provide.”
in silence the judge seemed to admire her calmness and how she handled that unexpected turn of events. “very well,” he said, looking at her. “the case is dismissed.”
y/n y/l/n-norris could not help herself smiling after the case had ended, she was not only able to win the case, but educate christian on respecting women. however, she had not quite finished yet. she still had her husband waiting for her with a gleeful glimmer in his gaze.
that evening, christian was bound to a chair in a dark, soundproofed room. he was frightened, realizing that he was in the hands of lando norris, a man not particularly famous for his mercy.
the door slowly opened, and lando entered, accompanied by y/n. christian's eyes went wide with fear as he beheld the mob boss come towards him, a sadistic grin spreading across his face.
"look who's back," lando said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "about time. death has been waiting for you."
y/n snorted, "babe, that was a terrible line,"
lando groaned, "i knew i shouldn't have used this one! george said it would sound cool!"
"clearly, george was wrong!"
christian began to plead for his life, but lando, turning his attention back on the man who was tied up, just laughed and shook his head. "you should have thought of that before you chose to disrespect my wife," he said. "now, you're going to pay the price."
y/n observed her husband handle christian, feeling a sense of contentment wash over her. she knew that lando would handle things and that she didn't need to worry about christian ever causing her trouble again.
as she left the room, she couldn't help but feel a burst of pride in her husband. he was a dangerous man, but he was also intensely protective and loyal to her. she knew that she was in safe hands with him, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

You had always known there was something dangerous about Lando Norris.
The way he carried himself—confident, untouchable. The way people moved out of his path without him saying a word. The way his eyes darkened whenever someone so much as looked at you the wrong way.
But you had convinced yourself that, despite the power and mystery that surrounded him, he loved you. That with you, he was just Lando, not the feared mafia leader whispered about in hushed tones.
Until tonight.
Tonight, the illusion shattered.
The moment you stepped into his study, your entire world came crashing down. Documents were spread across his desk—photos, reports, surveillance images. And in the middle of it all, your family’s name.
Your hands trembled as you picked up a folder, flipping it open to reveal pictures of your father, your brother, and—most gut-wrenching of all—you. Pages and pages detailing your family’s business, every connection, every deal. Notes scribbled in the margins in handwriting you recognized as his.
Lando had been investigating you.
Your breath caught in your throat as you heard footsteps approaching. You barely had time to wipe away the angry tears before Lando appeared in the doorway, his expression shifting from surprise to dread as he saw what you were holding.
"Y/N," he started, his voice softer than you had ever heard it.
"How long?" Your voice wavered, but you refused to let him see you crumble. "How long have you been lying to me?"
He took a step forward, but you moved back, clutching the folder to your chest like a shield.
"Please, just let me explain."
"Explain what?" you snapped. "That this entire relationship was built on a lie? That you were using me to get to my family?"
Lando’s jaw clenched. "It wasn’t like that—"
"Then what was it like?" you demanded, your voice rising. "Because from where I’m standing, it looks exactly like that."
Silence.
And that was the most painful part—he couldn’t deny it.
You let out a hollow laugh, shaking your head. "God, I was so stupid. I thought—" Your voice broke. "I thought what we had was real."
"It is real."
You met his gaze then, and the anguish in his eyes almost made you believe him. Almost.
"If it was real, you would have told me the truth," you whispered. "But you didn’t. You lied to me, Lando. Every moment we spent together, every kiss, every ‘I love you’—was all of it just part of the plan?"
"At first." His voice was hoarse. "At first, yeah, it was."
You flinched like he had physically struck you.
"But then I fell in love with you." He took another step forward, desperation written all over his face. "Y/N, I swear, I never meant for it to happen. I never meant to hurt you. But somewhere along the way, you became the most important thing in my life. And when I realized that, I didn’t know how to tell you the truth without losing you."
You swallowed hard, your heart at war with your mind. His words sounded sincere, but how could you trust him now?
"You already lost me, Lando," you whispered, shoving the folder into his chest as you brushed past him.
He caught your wrist. "Please, don’t do this."
You looked at him one last time, blinking back tears. "You did this."
Then you pulled away, leaving him standing alone in the room that now felt as cold as the betrayal settling deep in your chest.
The days passed in a blur of heartbreak.
Lando called, texted, even showed up at your apartment, but you refused to see him. You needed space, needed to breathe, needed to stop feeling like your heart had been ripped from your chest.
But no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t stop thinking about him.
You thought about the way he held you at night, the way he whispered promises against your skin. The way he had made you feel like the most loved person in the world.
Had it all been an act? Or had he truly fallen for you?
You didn’t know what to believe anymore.
Then one night, you heard a knock at your door. Expecting Lando, you almost didn’t open it—until you heard a voice you didn’t recognize.
"You should talk to him."
You hesitated before slowly opening the door, coming face-to-face with one of Lando’s men. His right-hand man, Max, if you remembered correctly.
"Why should I?" you asked, your tone guarded.
Max sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Because he’s not okay without you. He’s been a mess since you left. He barely eats, barely sleeps—hell, he hasn’t even been handling business properly. You changed him, Y/N. And now that you’re gone, it’s like he doesn’t know how to exist anymore."
Your heart clenched painfully. "That’s not my problem.“
"Maybe not," Max said. "But I thought you should know."
And then he left, leaving you standing there with your thoughts.
It took you another two days to gather the courage to face him.
When you finally did, you barely recognized the man in front of you.
Lando looked wrecked. His hair was messier than usual, his face unshaven, dark circles under his eyes like he hadn’t slept in weeks.
"Y/N," he breathed the moment he saw you, like he was afraid you’d disappear if he blinked.
You swallowed hard. "Tell me the truth. Did you ever really love me, or was it all a lie?"
His eyes filled with something raw—something real.
"I love you," he said without hesitation. "I’ve never loved anyone the way I love you."
Your lip trembled, but you refused to cry. "Then why didn’t you tell me?"
"Because I was a coward," he admitted, stepping closer. "I was terrified of losing you. And I did anyway." His voice cracked. "And I don’t know how to fix it, Y/N. I don’t know how to make you believe me, but I swear—I swear—that loving you is the only real thing I’ve ever known."
Your walls wavered, but you still whispered, "I don’t know if I can trust you again."
Lando exhaled shakily. "Then let me prove it to you. However long it takes, whatever I have to do—just tell me there’s still a chance."
Silence stretched between you, thick with emotions neither of you knew how to navigate.
Then, finally, you whispered, "I don’t know how to stop loving you either."
A choked breath left him as he pulled you into his arms, holding you as if you might disappear. You melted against him despite yourself, breathing in the scent you had missed so much.
"I’ll never lie to you again," he murmured into your hair. "I swear it, Y/N. You’re my everything."
And maybe it would take time. Maybe the wounds wouldn’t heal overnight.
But as Lando pressed a lingering kiss to your temple, you knew one thing for certain.
Despite everything, your heart still belonged to him.
Imagine being in an arranged marriage with Mafia Lando and you know hes not to be trusted and he is just so sweet to you but you know the horrors of how that can change. But here comes body guard Oscar and you hate that your falling for him all the while you're warming Lando's bed and falling in love with him too. Everything coming to ahead when you're taken and Lando looses his shit
cleaning out drafts and i’m not sure where this was going because it was months ago!
she’s not a stranger to violence, coming from a gang family herself, but that doesn’t mean she’s happy to be a line in the contract that forms their alliance. she remembers the day they had the meeting, when lando curled a finger to her, sitting on her father’s right side, and said, “you want peace, i want her.” she was surprised her family didn’t kill him and his gang then and there, but they were in enemy territory and they were always gracious guests out of respect. an hour later, a new contract had been worked up and lando and her father were toasting over whiskey as they traded contracts and signed each other’s copies. then slid them to her for her agreement, it felt like there was a loaded gun pointed to her head when lando held out the pen towards her, smirking. she knew there would be one pointed at her, and likely firing before she could, if she drew hers like she desperately wanted to, so she took the pen and signed her life away to him. she knew it was for a good cause, they had captured her two brother's the weekend prior, this was all orchestrated for their release and she had talked a big game about doing anything to save them. now she was.
she never left the villa with her family, she tried to, but one of lando's guards stepped in front of her and lando said, "either she stays, or the sons do." she tried reasoning that she needed her belongings, and he commanded two more of his guards to get on moving duty and collect everything from her penthouse. the fact that he knew about the penthouse chilled her. it was a well kept secret, or she thought it was. the one below hers had been bought out and converted into security base for her apartment. there were round the clock guards to prevent anyone but her from even entering the floor, and her father had convinced the owners to update the elevator to need a key code to access her floor. she wondered how he knew and what else he knew, and didn’t want to stay long enough to find out, but was given no choice. her brothers called her an hour later, saying she should have let them die before signing her life away, and she almost agrees, but says she loves the two of them too much. at least i will still be able to see you, eventually, she reasons.
she’s not used to having a guard by her side at all times. she was always being followed by guards but no one would dare threaten anyone in her family. she wasn’t constantly accompanied until the norris family came to town. it wasn’t a family like hers, not generations building an underground empire. no, he had built his family in the last few years, had hand picked each of his most trusted advisors and anyone else in his new gang. while her father relied on his brothers, cousins, and eventually children when they were adults, lando had grown his empire from the ground up with what seemed like childhood friends to her. she watched the way they laughed and joked with each other, how his villa seemed so homely despite feeling like a prison to her. her personal guard was one of them.
lando had explained to her that oscar was the only person he trusted more than himself, so anytime she wasn't with lando, she would be with him. oscar's blank stare scared her a little, he seemed so disinterested in everything around him, he just nodded at her from his spot on the couch. she watched him when he entered the room and untucked his gun from the holster and set it on the table before sitting on the couch across from them. she thought he was handsome then, but then realized he might be worse than lando, and she would be stuck with him constantly. a week goes by with his constant presence, the only time he isn’t there is when she retreats to her bedroom at night.
she’s pleasantly surprised when she’s asked why she hasn’t gone anywhere by lando, and she’s like “well, you told me to stay.” and he cheekily tells her, “you’ve got a wedding to plan. go try on dresses. taste cake. you have oscar now he’ll follow you wherever you go, drive you anywhere too.” true to lando’s word, when she tells him she wants to go to the mall a few days later, oscar puts on his jacket and retrieves his keys from gis pockets, waving a hand at her to follow him. he only speaks to her to ask her where she wants to go. he never answers any of her questions or responds to her jokes or attempts at conversation.
he doesn’t let his guard down, but she can’t help but try and get him to crack a smile or even look a little annoyed when she’s dragging him store to store. she occasionally thinks about how she might be able to take him and slip away, at least knock him down and be able to run away fast enough, but then she remembers how easily her brother’s were taken and she doesn’t even try. she even tries dragging him into a lingerie boutique to get a reaction out of him, but she receives more blank stares. oscar one day teases her about being a shopping addict and she admits she just likes to be out of the house, she wants to say away from lando, but she sees the way they act with each other. they're comfortable with each other in a way that takes a trust she can’t fathom having with either man, so she can't badmouth her betrothed to him.
he starts taking her out after that. instead of going to the same stores, he takes her to a museum, an arcade, restaurants she's never been to. despite him being silent and watching her eat when they go out, she's happy that he's making the effort to get her out of the house after she says that's what she wants. she goes out with lando too, but he takes her to things he’s interested in. he takes her to the golf course shows off his pretty new fiancé and the shiny ring he gave to her on one of their dinner outings. he wasn’t romantic about it, but he was kind of nice. he told her he knew this wasn’t the life she intended to lead but he was going to do his best to make her happy. he gave her the ring as he promised to protect her. he didn’t mention anything of love.
she falls for oscar faster than she falls for lando, she makes up responses in her head based on what she knows about him from overheard conversations she’s heard between him and lando or other guards around. she wonder’s if he’s been banned from speaking to her because no one else has a problem, but oscar can’t say a word. she somehow falls for him without him ever speaking to her, and he falls for her because she somehow doesn’t seem to fear him like everyone else. she grabs his hand and pulls him around like he’s a child, tugging him out of one store and into another when she sees something through a window. if anyone else in the entire world ever did that to him, he would break every bone in their hand for grabbing him. in the beginning, he let it pass because it’s his job, or at least that’s what he told himself, but eventually he grew to love the way she’d get excited when she saw something and grab his hand to pull him with her to look at it. she knows he has to follow her, she doesn’t have to grab his hand and pull him. she chooses to.
he likes her way too much to give in to the temptation of fucking his friend and boss’s fiance/wife, they’re just sickeningly in love with each other as she falls for lando and she never gets over oscar but she finds a bit of peace with lando, and then she gets kidnapped and oscar’s not so hidden feelings are brought to the surface.
the kidnapping happens when oscar’s off duty. he has to sleep a few hours every night, after all. lando’s off doing something or another, he didn’t tell her before he left her with two body guards. she was fast asleep when someone infiltrated the villa and shot her two guards with silenced weapons and abducted her. oscar woke up to the sound of a scream and was racing down the hall to get into her room. the only evidence of any intruder in the house, despite it being only seconds since the scream woke him, were the two dead bodies blocking the door. he had to shove against the deadweight, thinking furniture was blockading the door until his bare feet hit the pool of blood and he nearly tripped over the two guards. the bed is centered in front of the door, so when he looks up, he sees the tousled sheets where she should be. he searches the entire floor top to bottom for intruders or her as he makes various calls to alert the security in the rest of the property to search for any intruders and reader, then calls lando as he dresses and retrieves his own weapons.
he knows there’s no way lando could have been home for this to have happened, and he’s always slept like the dead. he wonders how they knew to get her then, with him asleep and lando gone. if it was an inside job, or if it was whoever lando was meeting tonight, or maybe someone got lucky. lando questions everyone one by one, he planned on oscar being first, because while he thinks he can trust him, he sees the way they look at each other and he doesn’t know if this is some ruse for her to escape with her secret love, or if she’s truly been kidnapped. he knows he can trust him when he arrives to find oscar already questioning interrogating security and staff, while the already vetted ones search the grounds and review security footage. there’s already blood on the tile in the dining room, so he know oscar means business.
an hour after lando arrives, when he’s on the verge of shooting someone, anyone, he receives a text saying to check the master bathroom, in the third drawer on the right. they find a lock of her hair and a ransom note.

Masterlist pt. 2
You almost missed it.
The small, folded note wedged under your door.
You frowned, bending down to pick it up, and as soon as you unfolded the paper, a chill crawled down your spine.
We‘re watching you.
Your pulse thundered in your ears.
This wasn’t some prank. It wasn’t paranoia creeping in.
You had been with Lando long enough to know what this meant.
Your hands trembled as you grabbed your phone and dialed his number. It rang twice before he answered.
"Angel?" His voice was calm, but you could hear the underlying alertness.
"Lando," you whispered, swallowing hard. "I found this note under my door. It says they’re watching me."
Silence.
Then, his voice dropped an octave, lethal and controlled.
"Where are you?"
"In the living room, I—"
Creak.
The sound sent a violent shiver down your spine.
It came from upstairs.
"Lando," your voice barely came out. "There's someone else in the house."
His chair scraped back. The faint background noise on the phone vanished.
"Get out." He didn’t yell—Lando never did when he was angry. His voice was quiet, clipped, and ice-cold. "Go through the back door. Now."
"I— I think they’re already coming down," you choked out.
More silence. Then, a single command:
"Stay on the phone with me."
Your breath came in quick, uneven bursts as you grabbed the closest weapon—a fireplace poker. Your grip was clammy, your hands shaking as you edged toward the kitchen.
Something felt off.
The air was too heavy.
You risked a glance toward the hallway.
A chair was knocked over.
You hadn't heard that happen.
Which meant—
"I swear, that thing wasn’t there a second ago," you whispered.
Lando's tone was razor-sharp. "Do not move."
Another creak. Closer this time.
And then—
A figure emerged from the shadows.
A man, dressed in black, face obscured by a mask. But the gleam of a knife in his hand was unmistakable.
"Whatever you do," Lando's voice came through the phone, controlled and deadly, "don't turn around."
Your grip tightened around the poker, chest heaving.
Too late.
The intruder lunged.
Adrenaline exploded through you. You swung blindly, striking his arm. He grunted but barely faltered, reaching for you again.
"Big mistake," the man sneered.
You wrenched away, sprinting toward the alarm panel—
But a hand clamped down on your wrist.
A sharp yank sent you stumbling, crashing into the dining table. The world tilted as you hit the ground, stars bursting behind your eyes.
You barely had time to react before he was towering over you, knife raised.
A deafening BANG shattered the air.
The man staggered.
Blood bloomed across his chest.
His body crumpled—just as Lando stormed through the door, gun still raised, his expression nothing short of murderous.
A muscle ticked in his jaw. His nostrils flared as he took slow, deliberate steps forward, gun never wavering.
"Lando—" you started.
"Shh, angel," he murmured. His voice was eerily soft. "Not now."
The intruder groaned, barely clinging to consciousness, hand twitching toward his knife.
Lando scoffed, stepping on the man's wrist with brutal force, making him cry out.
"You picked the wrong house," he said coldly.
His boot pressed down harder. A sickening crack echoed through the room.
The intruder screamed.
Lando exhaled slowly, as if trying to control the bloodthirsty rage simmering beneath his skin. His eyes flicked to you, scanning for injuries.
"Are you hurt?"
You shook your head, throat tight.
Lando's jaw clenched. He crouched, grabbing the man's collar and yanking him upright.
"Who sent you?" His voice was death itself.
The man whimpered, blood dripping from his mouth.
Lando pressed the gun against his temple.
"Last chance."
The man barely managed to spit out, "You're already dead."
Lando smirked. "No. You are."
Then, without hesitation—
BANG.
The man's body slumped, lifeless.
Lando let him fall unceremoniously, the air thick with the scent of blood and gunpowder.
The silence was suffocating.
Then, in one swift motion, Lando turned back to you.
Before you could react, his hands were cupping your face, his eyes scanning yours, desperate, furious, terrified.
"I almost lost you," he whispered.
"You didn't," you murmured, placing your hands over his. "You got here in time."
He shook his head, exhaling shakily. "Not good enough." His thumb brushed against your cheek. "We're leaving. Tonight."
You frowned. "Lando—"
"I'm not arguing with you, angel." His voice was low, possessive. "This house is compromised. We’re moving. I don’t care what I have to burn down to keep you safe."
You swallowed hard.
Because when Lando Norris made a promise, he kept it.
hii are ur requests open? i’m so sorry if they’re not lol u can obviously just ignore this…

You hadn’t seen him in three days.
Not properly, at least. Not without a phone in his hand, not without a vague “I’ll be back soon, baby” muttered into your hair before disappearing into the night.
You understood the life. You chose it.
Lando Norris, kingpin of Monaco’s southern coast, never pretended to be anything less than dangerous. He wasn’t just your boyfriend—he was your protector, your shadow, your curse, and your comfort.
But lately… he wasn’t there.
All because of her.
Sophia.
An old friend, he’d said. Someone who “needed help”—no details, no timeline. Just constant check-ins, urgent visits, private dinners that went later than they should.
And all you got were crumbs.
A text at midnight. A kiss on the forehead in the morning. A distracted glance when you tried to ask where he’d been.
So you stopped asking.
You curled your arms around your knees one night in the penthouse, staring at your untouched dinner. Lando was supposed to be home two hours ago.
You didn’t cry.
You just felt everything—like a thousand sharp needles beneath your skin. The ache of being second to someone who was supposed to be your home.
And that’s when you texted Franco.
Franco had always been around. A friend of a friend. He worked in finance, not crime. He smiled like he wasn’t hiding anything. He made you laugh when you met again at a gallery opening a few weeks ago.
He was safe.
Harmless.
And most importantly? He looked at you.
So when he invited you out for a casual drink, you said yes.
You wore that silk dress Lando always liked—the one that made him go quiet when you walked into the room. If he didn’t notice it on you, maybe he’d notice it on someone else.
You weren’t trying to replace him. You were trying to remind him.
And it worked.
Because the moment Lando walked into the lounge, flanked by two of his men and wearing a storm across his face, you felt him before you even turned.
You met his eyes.
Then slowly, deliberately, you laughed at something Franco said.
That was the moment the world shifted.
Lando didn’t say a word as he approached the table. Just stood there, hands in his pockets, the muscle in his jaw ticking like a metronome.
Franco blinked. “Lando, right? We met once—”
“I remember,” Lando said coldly. “You flirted with my girl then too.”
Your stomach twisted—but you stayed still. You didn’t rush to defend him. Not tonight.
Franco glanced at you. “I didn’t realize—”
Lando cut him off. “You do now. Leave.”
Franco hesitated.
You sipped your drink.
“Leave, now,” Lando growled.
Franco left.
The air around you turned electric.
“I see you’re free tonight,” you said calmly, not looking at him.
Lando didn’t sit. Just stared down at you with fire in his eyes.
“Is that what this is?” he asked. “Some game?”
You finally looked up, smiling tightly. “No, Lando. This is what happens when you ignore me for weeks."
“I haven’t—”
“Don’t lie,” you said sharply. “You’ve been with her every day. Cancelling plans. Missing dinners. Pretending like I’m not even in the room when you walk past me. And I said nothing. I waited. I trusted you.”
“I didn’t cheat,” he said quickly, jaw locked. “If that’s what you’re trying to make me jealous about—”
“Oh, so now you are jealous?”
Silence.
Lando stepped closer, voice low. “She’s in danger. That’s all I can say. She helped me once. I owe her.”
“And what about me?” you whispered. “Don’t you owe me anything?”
His shoulders stiffened. “Of course I do.”
“Then act like it.”
You didn’t go home with him that night.
You let him drive back to the penthouse alone, while you called an Uber and took your time returning. It was the first time you’d ever walked away from him—and it was the first time he looked scared you would.
The next morning, he was waiting.
Roses. Your favorite breakfast. Security detail reassigned to follow you for a change.
And then… him. At the kitchen counter. Hands wrapped around a mug like he’d barely slept.
“I haven’t been fair to you,” he said as soon as you walked in.
You leaned against the doorway. “No, you haven’t.”
He nodded. “I didn’t think it would matter. I thought you’d understand.”
“I did,” you said. “But I’m not a ghost, Lando. I bleed. I feel. And watching you give someone else all your attention while I sit home waiting… it hurt.”
His eyes softened. “You looked beautiful last night. I couldn’t breathe when I saw you.”
“Too bad you didn’t tell me that the last three nights I waited for you in our bed.”
That hit him.
He set the mug down slowly.
“Don’t punish me with someone else,” he said quietly.
You tilted your head. “Is that what it felt like?”
He nodded.
“Good,” you said. “Because now you know how it felt when you pushed me aside like I didn’t matter.”
Lando crossed the space between you in three strides.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “Truly.”
You didn’t say anything.
You let him place his hands on your hips, tug you gently forward. You felt his breath on your cheek, his voice a low rasp.
“Give me a chance to fix it.”
You looked up at him, eyes guarded.
“This isn’t flowers and apologies, Lando,” you said. “This is trust. And it’s fragile. You let it crack once—I won’t let it break.”
He nodded.
“I want you to be mine,” he said. “Fully. Not just someone I come home to, but someone I choose every day. I forgot how to show you that. I won’t forget again.”
Silence stretched between you.
Then slowly, you reached for his hand and pressed it to your chest.

Masterlist pt.2
The air was thick with tension, the kind that seeped into your bones and made your skin prickle. The dimly lit warehouse smelled of damp concrete and motor oil, the faint flickering of a faulty overhead light casting eerie shadows across the space. Your wrists ached from the rough rope binding them behind your back, the sharp bite of the restraints cutting into your skin.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
You and Lando had fought—again.
You had spent the past year at his side, not just as his lover but as his confidante, his equal in the world he ruled with an iron grip. But Lando had always been overprotective, always acting as if you were fragile, incapable of handling yourself. It had been a minor argument at first—about a meeting, about territory, about how you weren’t a liability. You had told him you could handle yourself, and in the heat of the moment, you made a reckless decision.
You left on your own.
And now you were paying the price.
The man across from you—Matteo Ricci, a rival boss Lando had crossed one too many times—grinned as he crouched in front of you. He was older, seasoned, with deep scars that ran down the side of his cheek, souvenirs from a life spent in violence.
"You should have stayed by Norris' side, cara," Matteo mused, rolling a knife between his fingers. "But I suppose this works just as well. He’ll come for you. He always does. And when he does…" He smirked. "He’ll be walking into a trap."
Your stomach twisted. You knew Lando would come. He wouldn’t stop until he found you, and that was exactly what Matteo was counting on.
The sound of a car screeching to a stop outside sent Matteo’s men scrambling. They pulled out their weapons, fingers tight on the triggers, as heavy boots thundered against the pavement.
Then, silence.
A deadly, suffocating silence.
You knew that silence.
And so did Matteo. His expression faltered for the first time, his hand tightening around the knife. “He’s here.”
The lights above flickered once. Then the warehouse was plunged into darkness.
A gunshot rang out. Then another.
Screams followed, cut off as quickly as they started. Bodies hit the ground with dull thuds, the unmistakable sound of a silencer making it clear that Lando had come prepared.
You swallowed, pulse pounding.
The next thing you knew, a hand was gripping your chin, forcing you to look up.
Lando.
His face was a storm of emotions—anger, relief, fury, love. His normally bright blue eyes were dark, almost black in the dim lighting, his jaw clenched so tightly you thought he might break his own teeth. Blood stained his knuckles, splattered across the crisp black suit he wore.
“You,” he seethed, his voice dangerously low, “should not have left.”
Before you could answer, his knife was out, slicing through the ropes around your wrists in one swift motion. As soon as you were free, he yanked you up, pressing your body against his. His grip was bruising, his breath hot against your temple.
"You could have died," he growled.
"But I didn't," you whispered.
His fingers dug into your waist. "Because I got here in time. Do you have any idea what I was thinking when I found out you were missing?"
A lump formed in your throat. "Lando—"
"No." He pulled back just enough to cup your face, his thumb brushing over your cheek. "We should not have split up."
You exhaled shakily, feeling the weight of those words. He was right. You had been reckless, stubborn. And now?
Now, you understood.
"I'm sorry," you murmured.
His lips crashed against yours—desperate, angry, possessive. His hands gripped you like he was afraid you’d disappear, like he was grounding himself in the taste of you.
When he finally pulled back, his breath was ragged. "You’re never leaving my side again."

The sound of the door slamming reverberates through the mansion, shaking the antique fixtures on the walls. You stomp into the grand foyer, your heels clicking sharply against the marble floors, your anger palpable in the air. Lando's sharp voice follows you, his British accent more clipped than usual.
"Don't you dare walk away from me, love!" he barks, his footsteps quick behind yours.
You spin on your heel to face him, eyes blazing with fury. "What do you want me to do, Lando? Stand there and listen while you talk to me like I’m one of your employees? Like I’m beneath you?"
His jaw tightens, the muscles working as he clenches his teeth. He’s wearing that infuriatingly expensive suit you helped him pick out, and right now, you’d love nothing more than to rip it off him—not in the fun way. "I don’t treat you like my employees," he growls. "But I am in charge, and you seem to forget that sometimes."
You laugh bitterly, crossing your arms. "Oh, how could I forget? You love reminding me every chance you get."
Lando rakes a hand through his perfectly styled hair, messing it up slightly. Normally, the sight would make your heart soften, but right now, it only fuels your fire. "You’re being unreasonable," he snaps. "We had an agreement—"
"No, you had an agreement!" you interrupt, your voice rising. "I never agreed to this ridiculous, controlling nonsense, Lando."
His amber eyes flash dangerously. "Watch it," he warns, his voice low now, like a storm about to break. "You’re pushing me, and you know I don’t like being pushed."
But you’re too far gone to care. "And I don’t like being treated like some trophy wife who needs to follow orders. I’m done with this conversation."
Without waiting for his response, you grab your purse from the console table and march toward the front door. His voice chases after you. "Where are you going?"
"Out," you snap. "Don’t wait up."
Before he can stop you, you’re out the door, the evening air cool against your flushed skin.
The mall is your sanctuary. Under the glow of bright lights and the hum of happy chatter, you lose yourself in racks of designer clothing, rows of shoes, and glass cases of sparkling jewelry. Lando's black card burns a comforting weight in your purse, and tonight, you intend to make full use of it.
You start at Chanel, swiping the card for a pair of heels and a matching bag without so much as glancing at the price tag. Next is Cartier, where a sleek watch catches your eye. After that, you make your way to Dior, where a silk gown feels like the perfect antidote to your frustration.
Each purchase soothes the ache in your chest, replacing anger with satisfaction. By the time you leave the mall, your arms are laden with bags, and the backseat of your car is filled to the brim with boxes and tissue paper.
But your phone buzzes just as you’re pulling out of the parking lot. You glance at the screen and see Lando’s name flashing. You don’t answer.
Back at the mansion, Lando is pacing his study, his phone pressed to his ear. The man on the other end clears his throat nervously before speaking. "Mr. Norris, this is Daniel from Barclays. We’ve noticed some unusual activity on your account and wanted to confirm if your card has been compromised."
Lando pinches the bridge of his nose, exhaling sharply. "What kind of activity?" he asks, though he already knows the answer.
"A series of high-value transactions," Daniel replies. "Chanel, Cartier, Dior... altogether totaling a little over seventy thousand pounds. Should we freeze the card?"
Lando smirks despite himself, shaking his head. "No, Daniel," he says, his tone resigned. "It’s just my wife... throwing a tantrum."
There’s a brief silence on the other end. "Ah," Daniel says finally, clearly unsure how to respond. "Very well, sir. Shall we flag the transactions as authorized?"
"Yes," Lando says. "And don’t call again unless it’s life or death."
You return home hours later, your anger dulled by exhaustion and the satisfying sight of your new purchases. You push open the door to the mansion, your arms laden with bags, only to find Lando waiting for you in the foyer. He leans against the staircase, his arms crossed over his chest, his sharp features unreadable.
"Have fun?" he asks, his voice deceptively calm.
You ignore him, stepping past him with your head held high. But before you can make it far, he grabs your wrist, stopping you in your tracks. His grip is firm but not painful, his thumb brushing against your skin.
"Don’t ignore me," he says softly, dangerously.
You whirl around to face him, the fire in your eyes reigniting. "What do you want, Lando? To scold me for spending your money? Go ahead—I’m sure you’ve got plenty of lectures lined up."
He doesn’t rise to the bait, his gaze steady on yours. "It’s not about the money," he says. "You know that."
"Then what is it about?" you demand. "Because I’m tired of fighting with you over every little thing."
His jaw tightens, and for a moment, he says nothing. Then, finally, he speaks. "It’s about us," he says. "About you running off every time we argue instead of dealing with it. You think throwing my money around is going to make things better?"
"It made me feel better," you snap, yanking your wrist out of his grip.
"Fine," he says, his voice cold now. "If that’s what you want—things, clothes, jewelry—then take it all. But don’t pretend it’s going to fix what’s wrong between us."
His words hit harder than you’d like to admit. You stare at him, your chest heaving with the effort of holding back tears. "Maybe if you treated me like your wife instead of your possession, we wouldn’t have these problems," you say quietly.
Something flickers in his eyes—guilt, maybe. But he doesn’t respond, and you don’t wait for him to. You turn on your heel and head upstairs, leaving him standing alone in the foyer.
Hours later, you’re sitting in the walk-in closet, surrounded by your purchases. The excitement you felt earlier has faded, leaving behind a hollow ache. You sigh, running your fingers over the soft fabric of the Dior gown, wondering if you went too far.
A knock at the door startles you, and before you can respond, Lando steps inside. He looks tired, his tie loosened and his hair disheveled. In his hands, he’s holding a small box tied with a black ribbon.
"I brought you something," he says, his voice soft.
You raise an eyebrow. "More things? Haven’t I spent enough of your money today?"
He ignores your sarcasm, setting the box down on the bench beside you. "Open it," he says.
Curious despite yourself, you untie the ribbon and lift the lid. Inside is a delicate necklace, a simple gold chain with a tiny heart-shaped pendant. It’s nothing like the flashy pieces you bought earlier, but somehow, it feels more special.
"It’s not to bribe you," he says quickly, as if reading your mind. "I just... I wanted to remind you that I don’t care about the money or the fights. I care about you.“
You look up at him, your heart softening. "You have a funny way of showing it," you say, though your tone lacks its earlier bite.
He kneels in front of you, his hands resting on your knees. "I know," he admits. "I’m not perfect, and I don’t always know how to handle you when you’re upset. But I’m trying, love. I promise I’m trying."
For a long moment, you say nothing, letting his words sink in. Then, finally, you reach out and cup his cheek, your thumb brushing against his stubble. "I’m sorry too," you say. "I shouldn’t have stormed off like that. It wasn’t fair to either of us."
He leans into your touch, closing his eyes briefly. "So... we’re okay?" he asks, his voice tentative.
You smile softly. "We’re okay."
The next morning, you wake up to find Lando already dressed, his tie perfectly knotted and his usual confidence back in place. He leans over to kiss your forehead, his lips lingering against your skin.
"Breakfast is ready downstairs," he says. "And I told the bank not to call me again if you go on another shopping spree."
You laugh, pulling the covers over your head. "Good. Because I might need a few more things."
He chuckles, his hand brushing against your hair. "Just try not to spend the GDP of a small country next time, yeah?"
You peek out from under the covers, grinning. "No promises."
And for the first time in days, everything feels right again.
