it might be coincidence but in MAG 68 The Tale of a Field Hospital our statement giver mentions a statement leak from the Institute in 1999 which happens to be the same year that the Institute burns down in Protocol

#statement giver also is buying old books to fill a computer which seems thematically apt #it is probably nothing but it stuck out to me #I guess lots of stuff was happening in 1999 but still #the magnus archives #the magnus protocol #tma podcast #mag 68

MAG 68 “The Tale of a Field Hospital” review:

Amherst, Amherst, where has that name appeared before…. I gave a look through the summaries of the episodes before but no dice. Hmm. I can’t readily remember any episodes dealing with infection either, except for MAG 45, and that didn’t have his name.

Aside from that, there was a leak of the Archives back in 1999! I didn’t really question why everyone who gave a statement had so much doubt and distract of the Institute, but I guess it’s a private organization that wouldn’t tell its strange doings as loudly known as it is currently. I guess a leak explains all that. I guess someone should make a list of all the statements we’ve heard that were given before that time. Woudl be curious to see what of the Real got out.

Hmm. There’s been a lot of immortality the past few statements. Agnes Montague and her eternal youth, the coded man from MAG 65, the mummified immortal in MAG 64. Interesting how grouped these all are.

This was a scary episode ignoring all the lore bits. Death of infection is a nasty bit no matter what. My heart sunk when the subject said to be careful since the papers were sharp.

I’ll give this episode a 6 public leaks out of 10 deaths by infection, would haunt Fred Treeves again.

-this guy giving a statement is a huge fan of the institute

-guy gets the book The Tale of a Field Hospital

-book is about John Amherst having every disease and sharing them with everyone around him

-he donates his book to the institute and warns them that the pages are 'kinda sharp'

^this guy's probably gonna be found dead via every disease after he got a paper cut

-guy's dead from Every Disease. because he got a paper cut.

-Gertrude seemingly burned the spooky book (<-honestly good decision. we don't want people dying of Every Disease)

-Jeffery Amherst, real life guy. he did war crimes.

SUPPLEMENTAL: -Jon IMMEDIATELY got lost in the tunnels. babygirl,,, Elias JUST gave you the key. last episode. my GUY you are so. I need to put you in a microwave and simultaneously use you as a stress toy -Jon changes his tunnel route to stay in areas that are spider-free -notSasha's here! girl what are you doing in the tunnels. why are you choosing to be a spooky creature today?? -notSasha helped Jon get out of the tunnels -when he saw notSasha in the tunnels, he didn't recognize her for a second. she looked real spooky. probably because she's not Sasha :/

picked a random magnus episode to relisten to while i was doing my dishes just now and my takeaway is that we should all really be talking about tale of a field hospital more... like for one thing the voice acting in that episode is phenomenal. the first 15 minutes are all jonny rotating with impressive smoothness between chipper fanboy statement writer/Spooky Statement Delivery/s1-style Snobby Archivist Voice and then you just get absolutely WHACKED in the face by "SUPPLEMENTAL: I'M IN THE TUNNELS"
