Re-listening tma I reached MAG 88 and I have some thoughts:

During the second listen I started wondering if The Web was also involved in this episode

You know the feeling when you find a bit of something and then you're compelled to DIG up everything about it and you can't just stop?

Not just literal earth or literal dirt or being literally buried down, but by the things that you actually love and simply CAN'T HELP YOURSELF WITH

anyone else noticed that Martin puts on an accent in MAG88 (aka Dig)?? because i swear he sounds more like Jon in this statement, idk if it's significant or not..? is it because he's under the influence of the Eye when reading statements because Martin does go into a bit of a trance like Jon does when he's reading statements, wondering if it's connected?

Can we talk about MAG 88 for a min here

Now the Buried is like one of the chillest Evil Fear Entities in tma but like can we talk about how the one Leitner for it we know of is just the stupidest fucking book out there. DIG. on every page. No metaphors, no storytelling, no pictures. It’s just a book that tells you to dig and when you read it you then wanna dig.

The Buried heard that everyone was making cursed books now and thought that was a cool trend but it didn’t quite get the idea of hiding what it wants behind a normal-ish book so it just made a book with an appropriate amount of pages and wrote DIG on every page and that’s it.

Actually can we talk about the Buried in general because it’s just genuinely such a strange fear god. Not because I don’t get being scared of tight spaces and such but because it has been known to just let people go too. Karolin Gorka was so unbothered by her demise by underground train that she just got to leave slightly more dusty. Jon and Daisy got out of the coffin and the Buried barely cared, once they were out. Other dread powers have been known to hunt down people who escape them but the Buried is like the End, it expects you to go back under the ground at some point anyways. The one Buried avatar we know is just a dude who would likely enjoy a weighted blanket. He just likes taking naps in the mud. Sure he’s a bit off his rocker but overall he’s just some dude with a thing for dirt.
