Mages for the Ages

Wow, there have been a lot of Guildmages. Most of them are from Ravnica, with a couple of Mirage variants, and even an Alara twist. What do they all have in common, besides being pretty darn awesome? Well, they work in either a shard/wedge or a color pair, and they have activated abilities centered around their plane/guild/identity. It’s a little flexible, but it gets the job done, right? One powerful person representing their world.

Design a new Guildmage/Battlemage based around any of Magic’s planes. Feel free to be flexible, but it must follow the basic formula for how the Mages work.

Because there are so many options, we’re just going to go for the best two or three designs for winners this week. Man, what if there were Lorwyn or Tarkir Mages? Or even something like Ixalan mages? There’s a lot of cool stuff to do here. Have fun designing!
