the way I see it Uncle Nasty has 3 possible origins:
1. The story about Tommy meeting an old woman on the beach and giving her a lock of his hair in exchange for the doll is somehow 100% true
2. Tommy saw the doll in the window of some random thrift store and was instantly enamored by how fucking weird it was, made the old woman story up but because all of his friends were out of the country none of them can disprove it
3. Uncle Nasty appeared in Tommy’s home one day and implanted the false memory of the old woman into his mind
Generation Loss: The Mastermind of The Warehouse without context
so a while back I mentioned that a friend of mine who knew a lot about castle design and medieval battle strategy had pointed out some really cool architectural differences between The Inbetween and The Other Side and I wanted to finally break those down!
Castles have had various uses throughout history, but the two most relevant here are luxury, showing off the wealth and status of the castle’s residents, and military, designed to be able repel armies even with only a handful of defenders inside.
The Inbetween’s design is built for luxury. It’s full of wide open spaces and courtyards, and it has several large windows on the various buildings. The thing that my friend pointed out as making it clearest that this castle wasn’t build with battle or defense in mind is that there aren’t any features designed to keep people out, which I thought was fitting considering the entire goal of The Inbetween seemed to be to keep Karl in. Some of the higher towers do have crenellations, which are the rectangular barriers with gaps between them that you see on the top of a lot of castle designs (Eret’s has small ones, for example), but the fact that they’re only on some of the towers at the very top and not anywhere along the outer walls shows that they’re there for form rather than function. Even the color of The Inbetween is more evocative of castles built exclusively for aesthetic purposes: painting a castle white was a common way that residing lord’s would show off their wealth. There are numerous examples of this in medieval artwork, as well as surviving castles like the White Tower in London (so named because at the time of its construction it was very heavily whitewashed).
The Other Side, by contrast, is built much more in the style of castle made for military defense. I mentioned crenellations earlier, and they’re much more prominent here. Crenellations were used to provide defenders on top of a castle wall cover from enemy arrow fire, and the fact that The Other Side has them along the front wall rather that along the roof of its highest points would imply they’re built more for combat than for aesthetics. There are also some on the towers regularly spaced out along the front wall, which appear to be flanking towers. The general idea behind flanking towers was that by having these towers sticking out of the walls, the defenders would be able to shoot down on anyone attacking the walls from at least two directions. Along with this main wall, The Other Side also appears to possibly have a second wall, and definitely has a very large keep (the primary/most fortified building in a castle).
The size of the keep does bring up one last thing I wanted to point out about The Other Side, which is that even though, especially compared to The Inbetween, it looks like it was designed to keep someone/something out, it’s just as likely it was designed to keep someone/something in. Castles were frequently used to house political prisoners, specifically in the tallest room or tower of the central keep. Looking at the massive size of the building in the background of The Other Side, specifically designed to be high enough to reach the clouds, I think it’s a very real possibility that either The Other Side is also trying to keep Karl there, or he’s going to find whatever is already being kept there.
so I made a post like this right before Tommy's prison break-in stream and since we're getting Las Nevadas tonight and the prison break tomorrow, I figure it's time for another round of

I don't know if this will happen because I don’t know how well the new people added will know cc!Mcchill but how fucking cool would it be if the reason a bunch of new people were joining the server at once was because they all heard c!Mcchill’s radio broadcast and they were trying to find Serenity
this has almost certainly been done before /rp
